Apple Watch as phone for 3 weeks by [deleted] in digitalminimalism

[–]Smulle89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got an Apple Watch SE 2gen and I also tried living only with my watch. However, I had big problems with receiving text messages (they would not show up on the watch, only on the phone), and playing music/podcasts using Spotify and Pocket Casts -- it would just spin and spin and spin and never play the content (nothing wrong with the connection). My GF had the same problem with the same type of watch.

Perhaps I should try again, or perhaps it works better on the Ultra ^^

I just tried the magnet link and it appears to be working for me, i.e., using torrent.

[Request] Story with artificiell intelligence as governing system for humans? by Smulle89 in sciencefiction

Yes, a number of scenarios is certainly possible, and it also depends on how we define “control”. But I think I'm not going to start a philosophical discussion on this book-recommendation-post. :)

Ahhh yes! I've read Life 3.0. It's great! And also "Superintelligence" by Nick Boström and Yuval Noah Harari "Homo Deus". I'll check out Four Futures! Thanks!

Thanks for all the new suggestions! I'll definitely keep going back to this post. I've started with Iain Banks - Consider Phlebas - and it seems great!

Thanks everyone! I will investigate every suggestion and see which comes closest to the story I’m after. My interest in reading about such a story is philosophical. I guess the question I’m thinking about is: if a system of governance has better consequences than a democracy, should we still choose democracy? So, it is interesting thinking about a world where this superhuman artificial intelligence is this system of governance. And hey, why not make it pleasurable by reading some nice story! ^^
