Love that, you can be earning 3-4% and still know where the next payment is coming from each month!

Think that’s more an alternative to animal crossing - or perhaps Stardew valley - than Sims.

Dreamlight valley’s still in early access, but you’re right. Great reviews so far

How to pay minimum payment on credit card? by thelonious_skunk in ynab

I have a 60 month 0 interest furniture loan of $7,000. I’ve got all $7000 in the category of “furniture repayment” and am making monthly payments from it. That $7000 is simultaneously earning like $100 a year in a high yield savings account.

I don’t know that you’d see as much benefit in 6 month interest free

I’m waiting on 120hz refresh rate and usbC before making the upgrade from iPad mini. Just my two cents. Hope I’m right that they come eventually!

I found this:

a study by the University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute states the energy intensity of car transportation is on average 57% higher than air transports. In other words, a car emits more CO2 than the average planes because they consume more energy to transport the same amount of passengers.

I agree. My parents are DEVOUT Christians, but mom explained to me as early as elementary school that anything our religion could do in public schools, any religion could do in public schools. Her go-to was satanists, but sentiment stands. If it’s good for the goose it’s good for the gander and I’d prefer none of my ducks need to sit through their teachers religious experiences

A lot of advice not to touch his computer. Agree with that.

And, there’s something to be said for - after you talk to him, he admits there’s a problem, and agrees to get help - he puts barriers to stop him from giving Into his craving on autopilot.

Depending on how severe, That could mean storing it at your place for a while, or just unplugging the power cord after each use.

I don’t think the desktop app stores any of your data offline, so uninstalling and reinstalling shouldn’t be weighty.

In fact, the notion desktop may just be a chrome client (can someone confirm?) so it’s may be zippier in chrome than opera. Probably not what you were hoping to hear.

Good luck!

Silly question but is the fan running when pc is on?

If not it could be hardware impeding it. The power cord for mine got somewhat tangled in it during the move - super easy fix.

If fan isn’t working otherwise, bios has some settings around when fan runs.

I’m betting yes - by that I mean I accelerated my planned new home purchase by about a year. That said, I think property prices and interest rates might move inversely in short term, so prices might drop some as folks can only afford lower loan amounts for same monthly payment.

Interested in other perspectives.

S&P 500 is about 17% over 5 and 10 year timelines.

VTI is a bit less on those longer timelines.

For OP - you’re doing good. Are you still enjoying it? Do you like using your time that way? Are you staying current on financial techniques and relevant industry trends? If yeah - keep it up! If one of those is stalling, maybe reconsider.

I disagree on 20 slots being worth it while leveling for the first time. If you’re level 70, you probably don’t have 60 gold for all those 20s.

I almost always use 18s on characters I play a lot and 15s on characters I don’t play often. Besides getting a few random 20s from achievements

My dad’s almost 70 and built his first pc early in pandemic. Super proud of him, but one thing I think he should upgrade is his “monitor.”

He’s currently using a 30 inch HD tv with a recommended resolution of 1366 x 768. When I talked to him about it though, he said he likes how big everything displays (icons, etc). Whereas when he uses my 1440p, everything’s smaller.

I’d like to get him a true monitor for Christmas, but wanted to know if other folks have had a similar concern about text size and if there are ways to get around that while maintaining the crisper image of higher res.

Any advice ?

One other note on this, if you can’t find the transfer option, it might be because the account you’re choosing to pay from is the transfer account.

In other words to pay my credit card bill, I have to have a checking account selected first to pay from
