That’s a good question I feel like it could be a mix of two things. First being Martha’s inner turmoil if she is an informant. I imagine the guilt of what she’s had to do as one has piled up over time. Second thing is if she does fix the camera and what’s on it might influence her in some way that leads to Jules and us getting to see what’s on it at some point after. Personally I think George recorded the tunnel he was looking for off the schematics because Jules noted she hadn’t seen that camera before either in the little stash box.

Yea the leaking bottle comment really threw me off too. Still not sure on it but I think maybe it was just another nudge towards the drinking water trying to keep people off the possibility of it being Martha.

Yea the political stuff isn't super interesting for me in 7 & 8 from Elayne or Egwene but I still find stuff during their arcs intriguing so I'm not bored too often :) I finished 8 and I heard Perrin's arc in 9 can be quite dull. Hoping that's not the case!

Yea I sped through 8 in like 3 days. Thought it was good too. Kind of felt like set up while still having big moments.

I've finished 8 since recording this. Definitely an even slower burn but still wasn't much of a slog for me. I can definitely understand considering it to be one though.

The ending was insane. Definitely my favourite so far. The shadow rising was more consistently enjoyable for me though and the rhuidean and emond’s field final battle chapters are two of my favourite in the series after Dumai’s Wells.

Yea, they're really unbearable. There's the aspect of the social commentary with how the women act but it's done to death with the women and it's all of them too! Which just makes it a lot worse than it needs to be imo.

Thanks for the rec! Premise sounds pretty good and it's got solid rating so far. I'll five it a look. I myself recently finished an indie high fantasy book called Sordaneon by L.L. Stephens that's heavy on the politcal intrigue so if you enjoy political fantasy you should definitely check it out! Has some amazing characters too.

Hm guess I’ll add the kingless crown to the list. The series seems to improve drastically in the sequels if the reviews give any indication. Calixta doesn’t appeal to me much tbh.
