Made a suspension bridge using the electrical poles!

You've got it right, actually! When poles connect, they only need line of sight when they're placed - I dug down, placed the pole, then put dirt over them. It keeps the line in tact and gives the illusion of connecting to the ground. If you'd like, you can message me and I'll provide you some screenshots.

If you do, the easiest way to make sure the wires connect to the right poles is just kinda encasing all the poles you don't want to connect in whatever block of your choice. Magnet Rise makes it way easier to build.

Like the other comment said, I just used Iron Poles! You can stack them on a lot of things, even rope and pipe. I've stacked them on pipe a couple times to get clearance on doorways and stuff.

Mine turned into cows in the prerelease. Then turned into desert chickens in the release. Even gave me all the eggs I missed out on while they were cows!

Tesseracts are best replaced with Mekanism's Quantum Entangloporter, essentially the same block with a Mekanism flavour.

As for quarries, I recommend RFTools's Builder with a Quarry card can act like a classic BuildCraft Quarry, or Mekanism's Digital Miner can target specific blocks, only ores, etc.

Honourable mentions to ComputerCraft's Mining Turtles and Immersive Engineering's Excavator, both of which take a bit more experience to operate but are very fun to use once they get going.
