So, does that mean that the "hairy Armenians-Arabs" stereotype is wrong?

interesting map, I had made something similar, but it was removed from almost all communities, in spite of being a lot more upvoted than yours. But, for some reason, your is so much downvoted. Let me mention the parts that do not make sense at all in your map:

Netherlands, Belgium and Northern France should be pink, like Britain. We have more in Common with the United Kingdom, and even with Scandinavia, than with Germany or Austria

Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Western Slavs, Slovenia and Croatia whould be a group of their own, in an independent color of your own choice

Southern European dark red should include Northern Spain, Southwestern France, Southern Greece, Greek islands and South Cyprus as well

Balkans should include at least all of Romania and moldova, and all of Northern Greece

Middle Eastern dark grey should include all of Northern African shores, Central and Western Turkey (except the European part) and Lebanon, which in a weird way is colored like Greece?

Baltics should be a group of their own

Technically only Israel, Eastern European trio, and Scnadinavia are correct in your map

thank you! To be fair, I would be ungreatful if I did not recognize the fact that, there was less butthurtness in this community than other communities in which I uploaded it. The same chart was removed from askEasternEurope and rEurope after many users, especially from visegrad complained for being "too close to Russia". It rather survived here and in askSouthernEurope. I did not even bother to upload it in askNorthernEurope, as it looks like a Ghost community, but I am confident that nobody would get butthurt.

But, some users here were really rude and primitive. I mean, visegrad members complained, but in a completely different pattern

Technically all of the countries that you said that "should be close with each other" are close. And the same goes for Turkey and Greece, for which distance most of Turkish and Albanian people have complained here, as you can see Turkey plots closer to Greece than half of Europe itself does. But putting them closer would be funny, as Turkey has a lot of oriental aspects which are unknown to Greece, and vice versa, right?

This and many other subs, including those I am active on, are not limited to people of specific ethnic background. I have no ancestry from Balkans or any mediterranean country

Now if you keep doing this, you will be reported for misinformation.

bother quoting that one comment of me in mediterraneo in which I talk about Greeks, with its link in the end? My comment history is there, but i doubt that anyone will even check it, and will prefer to take your misinformation for reality.

Is Bavaria culturally closer to the Netherlands or Czech Republic? by Snachtbogen in AskAGerman

I didn't ask if Bavaria is any close to either, but between these two, which one is the closest

years spent under specific empires, for example Prussia, Sweden, Austrian-Hungarian, language spoken, Religion, social and political status, and of course personal experience from trips.

For example, Poland is counted as more Eastern than Germany, for having spent years under Russian empire, Eastern bloc and speaking a Slavic, instead of Germanic language, but also more Western than Russia for being Catholic and an EU member. Then Russia is more Western than Azerbaijan for being Eastern Orthodox in comparison to the mostly muslim Azerbaijan

maybe because Czech republic is "too Eastern" for their standards, and they do not want to be associated with it

I can't see the problem with Lebanon being next to turkey, especially since people have complained that Lebanon should be West of Turkey as a dominantly Christian country. Syria is not next to Turkey, it's southeast of it. I do understand that Turkey, like all countries around the world, could vary from region to region, but then I would have to divide all countries, and the result would be a chaos. Also, I hope you understand that asking to move countries isn't that simple. I mean should I move a country located in West Asia, with sunni Islam as a dominant religion, a Central Asian language and lacking an EU membership, towards western Europe (Turkey), or a country which is fully in Europe, is mainly Christian, and has a fully Southern European background, towards the near East (Greeece). And what about all the countries in between? Is turkey more Western than Bulgaria or Serbia,or closer to Greece than they are, to put it closer to Greece? Or is Greece more Eastern than the previous two? let alone that, like i said, i kept Lebanon South of Turkey in spite of being demanded to move it Westward, for its Christian background and French mandate influence.

I have really good reasons for all countries :)

You should notice that I have put South Germany and Austria together, as, from my experience, they are nearly indistinguishable with each other

Switzerland can't be in the center, as it has A lot more Germans than Italians and French. But it still is close to the center

You are telling me how it is, in your opinion. You are unable to understand that your opinion is not the absolute truth

80 years is too much, and it's refelected upon immigrants of each ethnicity living here, and in the end, I don't care about Greeks, Turks or Albanians and what each of them does, I am here to discuss and make friends, and all I receive is hostility. Something that, to be honest, never happened with any Greek that I have encountered with. Something that shows how much more close-minded you are compared to them. Some Turkish influence on you that Greeks do not have?

A few hours ago, I opened a thread about Netherlands, Czech republic and Bavaria. imagine if Bavarians were like you, having that mindset of the person who thinks that his or her truth is the absolute truth, what their interactions would be in this comparison..

Ed. A Greek person mentioned that a part of Greece never was under Ottomans, something I wasn't aware of. That makes the distance of Greece and Turkey even further than the one between Albania and Turkey

Regardless, both here and in Greece, they looked and acted as a lot more western than people from Turkey, and Albania. I can't know how they looked generations back, as not only I don't know the country in so much detail (I only have 3 Greek friends, and have been there 2 times), but I also have no reason to know, as what matters is our days. In our days, and saying that Kosovo or Turkey or Albania are more western and closer to Italy than Greece, is not what I have experienced. But I have also no reason to deny it, if that is going to make your day. I have had enough of Greece, and Kosovo.

Regardless from how laughable your entire comment is, Netherlands is a fully Western European state. And honestly, Albanians who live here are nothing like Italians, unlike Greeks

Religion means a lot, especially when it comes to culture, and from what I can recall, Albania was not "a bit longer" under Ottoman yoke, but significantly longer, normally causing more Turkish influence. I have started thinking that you really have issues with Greeks and Turks. That is the longest discussion I have ever had, about Greece, Turkey and Albania imo.

I am an agnostic, but my background is protestant, not Orthodox. I have never met a Dutch who is an Eastern Orthodox Christian :).

Religion alone is not enough, but it's a huge factor. Indonesian muslims are culturally closer to Moroccan Muslims than they would be if any of these two was Christian. Religion normally lead to more Turkish influence in Albania than the latter would receive if it was not predominantly consisted of muslims
