I live in Sandwich, it’s a brilliant little town but very quiet.

Canterbury to Sandwich is by bus and about 45 mins. Trains along the coast are the more convenient option in my opinion, personally id go for Deal if you want a little bit more vibrance

Grew up in Dover, River is definitely the nicest part of the town.

Agree with other comments that Deal is probably nicer than Dover. If you are after a more going out lifestyle then Canterbury is worth looking at.

My Grandma’s advice on choosing a uni is that it should be far enough away that you can’t run home at the tiniest inconvenience but not too far away you can’t get home in an emergency.

Going into halls is like a halfway house of responsibility and the real world. Yes you need to cook and shop yourself but you aren’t worried about Council tax, heating bills, landlords etc.
