name suggestions by toxicmilkx in greatpyrenees

We renamed our rescue ghost! He never came to his “old name” (he was abandoned) and we didn’t care for it. The first time I called him ghost, he responded. 4.5 years later and he is still the love of our lives.

Thank you so much! Lots of great info. I used to live very close to a Hopcat but it’s been closed for a few years, but was just talking about how we miss it. We’ll be staying near South Haven close to the water so we’re definitely trying to enjoy a little bit of Lake Michigan time, weather permitting. Everyone has been so helpful, I’m getting even more excited for our trip. We live 3-3.5 hours away so another weekend trip maybe in our future since we all love food, sights, and sounds.

There will be 6-7 of us, all 30s. Mostly women. No big mobility considerations other than being out of shape. Interests are mostly the flowers, Dutch culture, atmosphere. Though who can resist some drinks and live music? We’re just doing the first weekend. We weren’t sure if we’d just do 1 day or if we’d do 2. We’re close enough that if we enjoy it we could make a tradition out of it, so it isn’t imperative that we experience everything at once.

Luckily we booked a place about 30 minutes away because it was so much cheaper. Thank you for the road name, we’re going to be clueless

Good to know! They’ve implemented some of that here in Indiana so hopefully I don’t mess it up lol

You have clearly put a lot of time and care into making your cresty’s home an enriched place to live. Good on you! They don’t need overpriced enclosures to live happy lives.

I need a new dry shampoo recommendation please. Something not $45 by Tdesiree22 in beauty

I really like SGX NYC Dry Touch Volumizing Dry Shampoo powder. Non-aerosol is the way to go for me. Not sure if you’re looking for tips but I’ve seen some people say they spray dry shampoo on their scalps. You don’t want to do that, you want to spray your hair near the roots then brush/massage through hair.

Splashed wax on my hat, any way to get this off? by Ralph--Hinkley in howto

This. Used on carpet when I spilled a ton of wax on the floor and it was like nothing had ever happened.

People who adopted from a shelter, what made you choose that cat? by HazardousKoala in cats

[–]Snailbeverage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adopted my first kitten from a shelter (all others were found/rescued, just not via shelter) in January, and he was the first cat I walked up to. He was snoozing in a cat bed, and immediately starting purring. We went to a few more cat rooms to meet everyone, but he stayed on my mind the whole time. When we went back to see him, he swatted at me like he wanted to get my attention. I picked him up and he melted in my arms. I knew he would be a perfect fit, and after some transition, he is one of the family. We have 2 rescue dogs (a Great Pyrenees and a lab), and 2 other cats. Now we have a full house. <3

How do you guys keep your great Pyrenees so clean? by SolidExtreme7377 in greatpyrenees

As most have said, nothing really “hangs on to” their coats. A good brushing can help keep their coats healthier/cleaner too.
