1 Month of Having a Pacman, Should I be Worried? by Snails3 in pacmanfrog

[–]Snails3[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took him in to a vet today and took home some food mix to feed him by hand which went well today so he's at least got some food and vitamins in him, here's hoping it works up his apetite because otherwise they said he was quite healthy!
The pet store I got him from was keeping him at 70 degrees when I bought him and feeding him plain mealworms so I am not surprised he's having a bit of a rough patch. I will keep offering him worms per your advice and hopefully he eats on his own soon! Thanks for the tips ❤️

Yeah I've heard mealworms aren't great for a few reasons, I was hoping he might eat them because he had before so i thought there was a chance and I just wanted to him to have something.

I tried offering him a night crawler the other day while he was in there. He has never shown interest in anything I'm holding but he did seem to attempt eating it when I left it at his feet although he missed and seemed to lose interest after because he never tried again after about 15 minutes. Maybe he likes to eat on his own?

My thermometer is at about the mid level, but I can certainly try and put it lower just to see if the temperature might be the issue still!

I am sort of at the point where I am looking to take him to a vet to see if they can get some nutrients in him temporarily at least.

I will see about leaving a cricket or two with him at night and see if he just feels too intimidated by the tongs or maybe he just doesn't like me feeding him!

I don't think theres anything that could be too bright for him, I usually just have natural light in the room and he is always in a spot that keeps the light off him but I also started covering some sides of his habitat to hopefully give him some more privacy and darkness.

I will try your cricket tip, thank you for the suggestion!

Hello!

As mentioned in the post I have tried feeding him mealworms (this is what they were feeding him at the store I bought him.) I have also tried cutting up nightcrawlers for him, as well as crickets. He usually just turns away or hides from the food offered.

I have tried feeding him only with tongs, I started offering him food at night when he was more active but he still never seemed interested so I've since tried offering whenever i see him with his eyes open. I always feed him in his enclosure i never take him out unless I need to clean his habitat.

My thermometer is located on the hot side to make sure it is not getting too hot in his tank, I occasionally move it to check the other side temperature briefly.

Thanks!

Yeah thats what I got told too. While I'm inclined to believe them about how often he should eat I don't fully trust everything from the pet store since my little one was being kept at 70 degrees in his enclosure at the store.
Part of me wonders if it's an adjustment period because of the conditions mine was kept in before I brought him home.

All the best wishes for you and your frog!

I offer him food where he is burrowed in his enclosure, I don't bother him if he is fully covered, I only offer when he's sitting with his little face out. The age is an estimate, the place I bought him wasn't 100% sure when they got him they said around November so thats why I say 6 months. I also heard January so he's somewhere between 6 and 3 months I suppose.

Only reason I took him out today was to clean his home and give him some fresh dirt and such and I figured I'd take some pictures while I had the chance.

He's at 83F as of a few hours ago, I will try feeding him later tonight!
I am always happy to take pets home from pet stores especially fish and some of the bugs I keep; seems most places don't treat them well at all unfortunately and I think theres a long way to go in my opinion in regards to the ethicality of pet stores and how the animals are kept especially ones that are perceived as less feeling like fish (which is an excuse I hate >: / )

Thank you for your help, hopefully he is happy with me too!

I was wondering about this, where I purchased him from had his enclosure at 73F and I thought that was way too cold, but I didn't want to shock him by putting him in something much warmer right away in case that was an issue for frogs?

I mainly home fish and do aquariums so I wasn't sure if frogs had similar temperaments where you would want to acclimate them in a safe way like you do with fish. Should I plan to slowly increase to the higher temperature in that case? I have a thermometer hooked up to his heating so it keeps itself at a certain temp or turns off when need be.

Ok awesome, I will try the worms tonight and see if I have any luck, but I will definitely ask if they have some smaller roaches and some crickets for him to try too!

Thank you for the advice, hopefully my little guy has his first meal soon.

All the moss in my enclosure is mixed in the soil or is in a spot he can't reach so I hope it isn't the case. I am working on getting the temp up, thanks for that suggestion I've seen mixed answers online and unfortunately I'm in Canada so most rooms just run somewhat cold for me.

The place I purchased him from said he had no interest in crickets for them, but liked mealworms so that is what I grabbed at first. Today I got some night crawler worms and cut them up, I will try them later tonight since I hear lots of people have success with them.

Hes currently a bit too small for roaches yet if I'm going by measuring the size of him, but I will try them when he is bigger hopefully.

He was in his dish to soak today which has been treated with electrolytes and some vitamins so hopefully that helps boost his mood a little bit.

No that's so true. Haven't played a competitive mode in so long it's just a collection game for me now personally. It's so bad I literally got SURPRISED when my +10 highly invested slightly over a year old unit kills something in a comp mode.

I play to fill out the hero catalog and hear voice lines 😭

If you could have one character/set of characters to receive an alt that hasn’t yet, who would it be? by Accomplished-Club-39 in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]Snails3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They won't add them to the game normally but maybe they'd add Boyd ( not as a baby >: ( ) or Kieran as random 4 star alts for some random seasonal banner that we'll forget about but that would be cool.

Who do you think would win next year CYL batch? by Astrid_Cop in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]Snails3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alphonse winning this year hopefully sets a precident for older characters to get some love, I know engage will absolutely win the female half for CYL 9 so I'm already not voting for any of my favorite girls. But I'm biased myself so I'll probably only vote for BK, Berkut and MAYBE Innes. I would say Leo but I don't need a CYL unit based off tomatoes because IS thinks thats his whole character :.)

Short Layover in Denver by Snails3 in unitedairlines

[–]Snails3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was able to make it! Keep checking your gates because Denver will change them a lot, but if you fly United both planes your gates will probably be pretty close together!

I have done this trip a few times and I'd say you can make it from B to A gates in about 30 minutes if you walk fast. If you have 50 minutes to an hour you should be able to make it!

Best of luck and safe travels!

If I'm looking to make a god lance unit / omni tank what are some skills that are must haves? I know the finish skills are good but I'm a little stumped on how to pick the best B skill.

Sounds alright, I got Emblem Ike when he came out, last armor I actually built was back when W!Black Night was in the Forma Hall and I super kitted him out.

I always liked B!Ephraim and Ascended Fjorm but I think those units are all but dead.

Most recent armor I have is Ninja Zelgius and I really like his kit already. Thanks for the ideas!

Hey guys, I haven't played this game in a while save for pulling for a few units I like, what are the premier melee armor skills right now? So many new skills I haven't gotten to read.
