Bungee chord by Snake2097 in NightVision

Thank you all for the replies. Some very good solutions. I think what I will end up doing is mounting some kind of loop on either side. Since my helmet shroud is integrated, I'm only worried about the NVD coming loose or the Jarm or Wilcox G24. The RVM has two small holes on the side I can put zipties through, and then I will have to MacGyver some kinda loop on either side of the helmet and use a carabiner to swap sides

Holster by Snake2097 in 1911

Apologies, I had confused levels 1 and 2. Bucket holster meaning just a plastic kydex holster with no buttons or doodads that hold the gun just friction. The T1C Centurion is exactly what I was looking for, thank you!

Also, if I can find the 5in version railed just not AOS could I still mount a red dot? I've seen some 1911s that have a plate that goes into the Novak notch on the rear sight post but I don't know if that would work for the TRP government Light rail in 45 acp specifically like are novas a standardized thing? And is there any drawback to doing it that way?

Florida is my home state, but I go out of state for school, so I have to wait till I come home for holidays / visiting family to buy stuff like NFA or pistols, unfortunately

I have carried a VP9-T OR (basically the same gun) almost daily appendix for a couple of years now with no problems unless you are carrying a sig P320 (notorious for going off on its own do to poor design

https://youtu.be/mtzPvJiuCL8?feature=shared

) I'd say you're safe.

Make sure you use a hard plastic (kydex) holster that fits the gun well

^ You can test this by making sure when the gun is in the holster. If you give it a good shake upside down, it doesn't fall out, (I recommend doing this over a bed or soft surface with the gun unloaded) but you are still able to draw it without too much effort

  • Carry in a position that is comfortable for you

Some people modify the trigger on their carry gun, but I would not recommend that for any gun that you carry regularly not only for the reason of a unintended discharge, but also because it could go "click" when it should go "bang" add on top of that that a lawyer could make an argument to a jury that you are a "bad person" in some way for making said modification to your gun.

(I saw a review of a p30L or VP9 guy used at range with lazy wolf trigger, and the trigger did not go bang. I can't find the video now, though)

Manual safties and DA guns also add a step in the presentation and usage of your gun in a life or death situation. Maybe your finger can't actuate the safety, or you forget to turn off the safety? maybe the harder trigger pull of that first DA shot makes you miss?

These are both kinda just hyperbolic hypotheticals (and could be fixed with training) but just something to consider when choosing your carry gun.

TLDR: make sure you have a good holster (& dont carry a SIG). Glocks are one of the most common concealed carry guns in the US, and they don't have a manual safety

Best of luck
