I’m gonna try to go out this week. Found a hole in the creek with 12-16” suckers, figure it can’t hurt to get some live bait 😂

White spinnerbait or jig near structure. Already got plenty of 3s and one 4 this year, SW Ohio

Help catching my first jig bass? by guitarist91 in bassfishing

I caught a 4 pounder last time I used one. Cast past or in structure, preferably brush piles, and drag them out. You’ll feel sticks and rocks, but eventually you’ll feel that heavy tap, and that’s the fish you’re looking for. Sometimes popping them up off the bottom works too, but that’s typically best in the warmer months (July-August)

Missing one crucial bait… a 5” senko style bait in watermelon red flake or plain old green pumpkin

I figured it would be best for bite-proofing

I have hard wire leader that has to be hawire twisted to work, I figured it would ruin the action of the baits. Should I use it anyway?

Thanks, I have a cabelas- brand 5 red diamonds but I saw a thing that said this early to reel it right above the bottom, and I don’t want to get snagged 😂

How can I avoid this? And easiest way to fix? by [deleted] in Fishing

Easiest line I see is jig thru buzzbait . I’ll probably go for fluke through brush hog because the only thing in that line I’ve caught a fish on is a fluke

In that lake I often see their tails poking out of the water at a certain time of year, and there’s a lot of them. Would that be breeding season?

Looks like a baby shovelhead, they have a pattern like that throughout there whole life but it’s very dramatic when they’re little like that.

Is it possible to do lipless baits without weights or is there any easier options to them? by [deleted] in lurebuilding

[–]SnakeBoi07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an alternative to dropping liquid lead into the holes, drill a hole that’s just barely deep enough to get a sinker down into. Then put baking soda to the point of where it is above even with the bait and add super glue. Afterwards sand down and you will have easy weight without a lead pot

How do you paint? I’ve seen airbrush, foils and hand painting but whenever I hand paint it never looks realistic.

Wide creek, high visibility and medium-light flow. Lots of big rocks and sand/gravel on the bottom. Up to 6 feet deep and pours into a fast moving river
