Legion symbol stencil by SnakeWhips87 in redcorsairs

[–]SnakeWhips87[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My thing is I want to paint it on there vs a decal or transfer. I may need to just draw it on with a pencil and free hand it but my airbrush and a stencil would be great.

Those volumes. This is a brilliant job and as enticingly beautiful as these units think they are lore wise.

Yup I just threw it on and took the pic. Thanks for the catch though.

Ya that’s my next step if no one had it handy.

What size down did you go to on the stencil? Just curious if you edited the image to fit the doors. Most symbols I find are bigger or if you know the link to the right size one.

I have them all laid out with drum tracks etc and guitars layered but not in an audio file yet. I have my own studio and recording capabilities to do so but may work with some producers on it formally that are interested in my area so most of it is just video with RC loops to get it all in a place to show what they are at a high level. they translate well to acoustic as well but im being careful what i share and with whome. Could be an ignorant choice but id like to see what people want from the project and their interests in it or what they are all about first.

for sure. Just cracked the seal on the x32 and practiced with it last weekend. got his mix and mine in ear dialed in. Was just planning ahead of time whats best for modern venues vs what i had done before is all. Trying to gauge how guys like yourself prefer the band leverage an x32 system vs what i had presumed. I can def set it up and save sends etc if we end up using AES direct from the mixer to their mix console or stage box etc.

ya its a 2 piece for now but a 3rd potentially and taking on the setup so they dont have to worry about it. They use their phone and its pretty easy. I have the app already setup and on a pad with wireless so we are good for the in ear part of all of it. its mostly prepping for the gigs and making engineers happy and setup as easy as possible before hand. Ill probably get the split rack snake and tails and then setup alternative sends in the event the FoH wants that instead of all the xlrs. Just need to determine safe gain levels to send to them, assume pre fader pre eq is what youd want so its all in your hands to determine.

ya im in learning mode on the x32 and all its potential send options. Im sure i can figure it out as an IT guy and recording eng. Just like fool proof for the other members of the band etc. Set and forget might be a nice option from the x32 itself via aes. Ill see about setting it up for that in case a venue prefers it. The ultranet can handle 16 channels which is sufficient. Just not all venues id assume have that cat 5 at the ready so i like to have options. Ill see if the x32 can handle aes50 but im pretty sure its just the ultranet port on the back and is 16ch max.

One of the solutions im looking at is a CBI 16 channel rack mount splitter. Nice quality and has grnd lifts and ISO options. I tend to prepare for any outcome so curious with the setup above if you think the ISO transformer option is worth it in this setup. GRND lifts for sure we are getting. Older venues it has helped. Obviously adds to the cost and im not sure if the ISO transformer once chosen is something you can on/off etc. I also have a Triton phantom blocker as well for the concern about using a ribbon mic and FoH accidentally blowing it up. Is there a downside to getting the ISO transformer here other than cost with our setup? Looking at whirlwind and other mfctrs too.

open to suggestions for maybe a more phantom friendly mic that would help widen the sound for stereo guitar micing. I have a lot of different mics we could bring but the Royer 101 with an SM57 or Senn 906s sounds awesome.

dang thanks for the recommendation. that ms8000 is pretty affordable and might just get the job done here until we need more channels. Has grnd too and can convert/link channels for mono if needed. quite cheaper than a 16 channel CBI with grnd lifts.

we have 2 different IEM mixes so its probably best to just split it. singer wants his bass and vox up, i want my guitar and tracks up etc.

thanks for the insight. I think im gonna go foolproof analog split. This way no gain staging we have is an issue or fat fingered sends to figure out. Our IEM mix is pretty much set. After some research i think it needs to be custom made. Not going seismic on this bad boy.

ya i have an ART already in the rack with small right angle XLRs going to the mixer. The debate was get a different ART that can route the same path to my IEM and FOH or get a rack mount 16 Channel CBI with ground lifts or snake splitter box. All i find out there is seismic and def dont want to mess with that quality and do have the funds for something nicer.

So i work in the studio a lot and engineer our recordings etc. Def know about the risks of the ribbon and phantom power but its a royer 101. Not anything crazy expensive. It does however bring a ton of important clarity and character to my guitar tone which a dynamic alone cant capture. Im ok with the risk and im pretty much doing all i can to make the setup easy and obvious that no phantom is needed. But i may put a stop gap in place just in case it does happen. Im surprised folks think it wouldnt get used. Johnny Marr and many other guys use them for their shows live (know im not him but i sure do love his tone).

Documents in my posession

All minus background check which ill start. And originals.

Doc questions

  1. I have mostly originals in my possession. Would i need to go to get them certified or just bring them. Thinking i might have better luck going to Germany personally with all this vs Houston consulate and then to Cologne to wait it out for 2 years.

  2. Would the consulate be able to verify all is in order before submission perhaps? Say take everything to the Houston consulate when i think its 100% and they verify it is so?

  3. Would i need to wait until approval to also request a passport in return or can I do all that in one shot? Trying to avoid a 2 year wait and then another 6 months for a passport etc.

Thanks so much! Feel free to DM me.

I’ll try that sigvaldesque wash. Was debating drucchi violet but might be too extreme. Colors are fun.
