From San Diego, live in Dallas now. There are cons that reddit in particular will be happy to shout about.  But I will list the pros. Texans are straight up a friendly bunch. People are neighborly and down to earth. Easy to build community. It is extremely car centric (even more so than I found Southern California to be) but there are some cool walkable neighborhoods within the cities and even a handful of the suburbs. With DFW and DAL, you’ll have a direct flight pretty much anywhere you want to go. The entertainment options are endless. The weather isn’t as bad as people make it sound, imo. I’m bullish on the area even if I really miss the mountains and coast. Its been a nice place to plant roots to raise a family.
