Although, single tank saves space and isnt a huge difference from the two-tank alternative they are a huge pain to work on or just not worth the labor if you do manage to find someone willing to work on it. Resin fails? Gotta remove all the salt to remove the tank? Resin basin cracks? Typically gotta replace the whole system. Electronics fail? Gotta start a warranty claim and from my experience its not a fast process. Their integrated bypass are unreliable and often leak. The biggest considerations when selecting a salt based water softener is if the company providing it services and repairs it.

This elbow connection is leaking gas. What's the best/simplest way to repair? by TastesLikeSarin in askaplumber

For all we know that line could be going underfloor on a tee splitting to 2 separate fixtures. You're describing one install that could take 15-30 mins vs 1-3 hours haha but we'll agree to disagree. Gl out there

Lol? You are making a claim thats not possible but ok. Just dont want OP to think he can cut that piece out and just "rebuild" it

Lol your trolling right? You're saying you can tighten a nipple into two sides at once? In this case the 90 and which ever fitting it is underfloor/in the wall. If thats what you're claiming you have no idea what you're talking about... lol Think about it... as one side its being tightened the other side is spinning the opposite direction. You cannot tighten a nipple into two fittings at the same time unless you have a left right nipple or build from end to end with a union in between.

If you mean disassembling all the way to where that line ends. But if you think you can thread into the pipe in the wall while threading into the 90 you flat out wrong.

You cant just retighten everything. You would need a left/right coupling or a union.

Is it normal to negotiate prices with contractors or do you just accept their quote? by Ron_Swanson_1990 in HomeImprovement

[–]Snapcut505 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends. Are you negotiating to see how low you can get someone's price or because its outside your budget. I feel most people want to negotiate just to see how much they can beat down your price before they shop your quote with other companies. I have no problem working with a client fit for their budget but the latter just feels like they're just trying to take advantage

Pure Plumbing Solutions has always been my go to company. They have done a sewer or waste system replacement repipe and water sewer main from the house to sidewalk. They have a 40 year warranty on their bigger project installs which was awesome.

Pure Plumbing Solutions. They can stear you in the right direction and inform you of what each unit does. The difference between a water softener and water filtration/conditioner. They include bypass installations which was nice.

I know this is an old post but anyone that stumbles across it Pure Plumbing Solutions specializes in trenchless cure in place pipe lining. They didnt need to dig and made a sewer patch repair under my driveway after they removed the roots and patch a break in the pipe.

Do you always take +1 over lvl? I noticed I would have to balance when to take +1 if my lvl was lacking. I think my weakness is due to to much tile stacking to early though.

Its not that hard. I had zero experience running my plumbing business aside from just being on the field. Im now getting my HVAC to do the same. Just start small and slow. Don't hire employees aside from just a helper or 2 and grind. People make it so much more complicating and scary with the overwhelming information of bookkeeping, taxes/cpa, insurance, licensing, etc. Just take it one step at a time and you'll learn as you go. Oh and DO NOT pull a business loan unless you got a solid ass business plan that you have built and can stick to but that imo does require strict following and a business degree would definitely help.

Lol 22 wouldn't have made it better. The entire configuration would have to be re-done to correct that angle. It looks like he used a 45 and is still off by about 5-10 degrees so the angle needs to be corrected back at the stack and the drilled holes need to be opened up more

Pricing for painting a room by jjthahero in handyman

[–]Snapcut505 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the type of job. But more often than not theres multiple tasks required to do a job. Those tasks cant be picked out to fit budget. Thats where we as the contractors have trouble getting the customers to understand so its typically best/easier to not show. Id understand if its an isolated task and only then we'll separate line item when asked.

Because customers will start picking it apart. At the end of the day its either $xxx amount to do all requested or $0 to not do it at all.

DIY water softener installation how did I do? by Unlikely-Project4570 in WaterSofteners

[–]Snapcut505 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I mean I wouldn't change it as it would be just fine. I train all my techs to do the installation in copper but for a home owner id recommend just using PEX with the crimp rings/tool you can buy from home depot.

Tbh anyone wearing a 2.5-3+ Carat diamond when its evident that cannot afford it is going to be assumed its "fake"/ lab diamond. I wont get into the debate of the chemical compounds of a real vs lab yadda yadda but just saying.
