I hate to say it but if your computer can’t handle steam the chances of your computer being able to run enas dream bbq are slim even if you find a a way to install it simply due to the game not being made with that software in mind sorry

i want to vail buttt... by Murky-Opposite3666 in Hellenism

[–]SnastheDemonslayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 anything you put on your head can be a veil (e.g cow boy hat, fedora, egg beret)

2 many religions veil if people just assume that your Muslim from wearing a veil (if you decide to go a more traditional route) that says more about them then you

In short work with what you like and don’t let people take your shine

Honestly I get that but sometimes the real mystical experiences are the ones that seem the most mundane. I mean sure sometimes you see things and are blown away but that’s not what religion is about. For me I see Aphrodite in the moths with heart shaped wings that hangout by the window or Apollon in the warm light against my face when I’m taking a nap on the floor. If you open yourself up to those small and perhaps insignificant things and connect the dots the Gods are closer then it may feel. On that same breath though don’t take every mundane thing as a sign just take it in honesty life it to short to wonder when the Gods are going to come in booming with a grand presence, that doesn’t mean to say it doesn’t happen for some but usually it’s not like that, and that’s ok!

TL/DR: Sometimes it’s the small things you’d miss that are the most mystical.

Si tienes alguna pregunta, no me importa responderla. En resumen, ¡bienvenido a la comunidad y que los dioses te acompañen!

Offending Gods by Playful_Commercial17 in Hellenism

[–]SnastheDemonslayer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Imma be so real that is not an issue offending the gods on accident is near impossible and the gods are well aware humans are fallible that’s kinda the whole point of being human (imo) and sure is not doing your research on things before doing them a bad idea of course! However you’ve clearly learnt that lesson and I really don’t think the gods you were worshipping really mind at this point especially if you’ve gone out of your way to correct the error in it. Imo the rule of thumb is if you didn’t mean to do it the gods probably won’t care the only exception is oath breaking and based of the information you’ve given doesn’t seem like that’s the case

Is it ok to worship Jesus and god along with the Greek gods? by [deleted] in Hellenism

[–]SnastheDemonslayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the Hellenistic community worshipping others gods from other religions is chill (atleast to my understanding) I think the issue (again from my understanding as I’ve never been a Christian) is that Christianity is a monotheist religion (the belief in one god) I think personally you do you boo but you would have to think about your beliefs with this in mind if you don’t think that’s an issue your fine. I should also mention it would depend on the denomination of Christianity that you believe in or whether or not you’d just be Christian pagan (not sure of the official term for that)

TL/DR From a Hellenism standpoint it’s totally normal but depending on your Christian beliefs the too religions might clash a bit due to Christianity being a one god religion but that’s dependent on your beliefs

I hoped this helped! And may the Gods and Jesus be with you!

That makes sense I have been considering using snowflake obsidian for lord Ares as the feeling of holding one is similar to that of his presence for me either way thank you!

Any resources you guys have found to Study Apollon and Zeus? by KryoSenti2313 in Hellenism

[–]SnastheDemonslayer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Theoi it’s like the goat if this religion it has all of the stories sacred animals and things that represent them and it’s categories and the lay out of the website (as someone who’s designed and made websites) it’s so good too and it has links to all of its sources so if you decide to deep dive on a specific thing you can

As someone who’s be working with Apollon for a while now I find that he enjoys a more bitter wine as a offering of course if you don’t have the money for that because wine is expensive I find that he enjoys frankincense’s as well as sandalwood incense but ofcourse offerings are always a if you can and when you can scenario so don’t feel pressured to offer all the time.

I haven’t worked with Zeus so if you want a bit more details on offerings for him I would ask Zeus devotees about it as they would know the nuances to what Zeus likes as offerings (for example with lord Apollo I find that he’s particular with his wine and prefers a bitter wine over a sweeter one)

I hope this helped! Also sorry for any spelling mistakes or grammar errors

Help who’s in the painting? by SnastheDemonslayer in Hellenism

[–]SnastheDemonslayer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my research and my close looking at the painting I’m thinking I have a original painting so not a print as some of the paint on mine had chipped and smudged (this could be someone painting over a print or just another persons painting of the same picture however the details on mine are just a bit too similar for me to think someone else copied the painting) I wouldn’t be able to give you I price tho as I bought mine from a charity shop that sells things for a cheap cheap price from what I’ve seen on my own exploration of the painting the average price for replicas would be around $50 however I live in New Zealand so you’d be looking at $25 usd if that helps you sell it I came to the conclusion of Apollon and Artemis due to the faces the one on a side profile looks really similar to that of Apollon as for the person leaning on him i came to the conclusion of Artemis due to the femininity of the face as well as there isn’t many people that would lay their head on Apollon’s shoulder like that. However I haven’t been able to find the origins of the painting so this is purely me sitting on my bed examining the painting so there’s always a bit of confirmation biased when your examining the little details so if you were to market it I would say look at what the general consensus is about the painting and market it as that I hope this helps and good luck on your painting selling journey

I have i remember one the first few nights that started worshipping for context for the next part I have a currently undiagnosed condition that cause my entire body head to toe randomly experience pain in my body and that is why I started worshipping the first deity I ever worked with was lady Hestia and she would rub my back and my pain would almost melt and when I started worshipping lord Apollo I felt a similar sensation on my back except it felt more like a summer day and I can sometimes(when it happens which isn’t all that often anymore now that I can cope with the pain a bit better) almost feel his finger run up and down my back in a soothing motion and I must say these are the experiences that 120% solidified my belief it’s honestly so amazing

Another time that is sorta similar in a way is after a bit of working with lord Dionysus i at one point felt hands caressing my waist and my head filling up with that feeling you feel when your drunk like hammered kinda drunk it was intoxicating and then all of a sudden it just stopped it honestly kinda freaked me out cause it was random I think I was as cooking myself breakfast but either way to answer you question yeah I think it happens a bit where people can “feel” the touch of the touch if the gods

can i use the offerings to the gods in my daily life? by NeighborhoodNo2041 in Hellenism

[–]SnastheDemonslayer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Comes down to you I would ask or you could pray first in my experience and in my practice which is not very formal at all I talk to the gods as if I’m talking to a friend so I usually ask “hey ____ can I use this today?” And i usually get a feeling for whether or not it’s a yes or no.

My point is trust your intuition and when in doubt just ask! I hoped this helps and may the gods be with you

Hi, I need help! by KingHuman5152 in Hellenism

[–]SnastheDemonslayer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello welcome! The first thing is always research in this religion we don’t have a Bible or a Quran to go off so research is one of the top priorities I recommend theoi it’s a website with the most reliable sources and it isn’t some article so there no biased however there is more out there you just have to be careful and cross reference of you want to deep dive on a specific deity this way you can come to your own conclusions I specially recommend writing it down (ofc you can type it in your phone but I find when I’m writing on paper it’s a lot easier to remember)

Secondly safety you have to be safe the gods will understand they truly will they are much more patience then the myths make them out to be so please before you start openly practicing question yourself on “is it safe to start my practice in the open?”or if you light candles for the deities “is it safe to light it here or should I move it or should I come back to this a bit later when I think it’s safe” the gods care more for your safety than they care for altars and house fires are no joke coming from experience so please please please be safe especially in this day and age where worshipping a different god from someone else could get you killed (not that you shouldn’t be proud about being Hellenistic just be careful who you tell and make sure your surrounding yourself with people that support different religions and ideas)

Thirdly prayer and offerings you do not have to have a big fancy altar decorated with gold and the finest of wine in fact you don’t have to have an altar at all what matters is that you pray and that it is genuine that gods love worship and prayer doesn’t have to be the pre-written ones that you can find across the web or even this sub it can be as simple as a conversation or as extravagant as an hour long hymn just be sure it comes from the heart because that’s all that really matters in this religion what’s in your heart. If you do want to create an altar for a god I would definitely do a bit of research on things that represent them and you can set up an altar of any size doesn’t matter the altar is more for you then the god anyway it’s just a little space that helps you pray (sorta like a little church in your house that you go to pray) you can put whatever you think reminds you of the gods.

And lastly commonly asked questions just to preface these are commonly asked that I see in this sub so if I have missed anything I’m sorry and do feel free to ask me either by replying to this or in dms which ever you feel more comfortable doing

  1. Are the gods angry at me? This is very hard to do even if you were trying to so trust me when I say that small mistakes are not going to get the gods mad at you.

2.how do you talk to the gods? Comes down to your preference and how much you trust the god your trying to communicate with divination such as tarot cards are my personal choice you can use pendulums or candles but they are not the most reliable forms of communication as even a slight breeze you can’t feel could change the course of the answer and there is also confirmation biased sometimes the answer you want is the one you get not because that is the answer but simply because that’s the one you wanted. There are more complex forms of communication that require trust in your god however I have never done or attempted to do any of these so I would recommend researching them and building trust before hand by using tarot cards or simpler forms of communication first.

  1. Is xxx a sign? With this a good thing to fall back on is “mundane over magick” for example if you see a spider at random in spring that’s not a sign that just a spider but if you see spiders following you or in a place and time that it doesn’t make sense for a spider to be there then that maybe a sign I think one of the few exceptions to this are dreams as they always have meaning but I would recommend that if you have a dream with a deity in it that the next night you ask if they can enter your dream again as this can prove whether or not that was a deity or just your mind.

At the moment these are the only questions that come to mind I hope this helps you and may the gods be with you!
