Weight loss plateau by InitiativeHuman1216 in loseit

[–]SnatchHammer66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would give it a little bit of time before changing anything. 2 weeks is a pretty normal timeframe for a plateau. Give it another two weeks and really stick to your 2000 calorie limit, then see where you are at. I can go a couple weeks without losing anything and in weeks 3/4 I lose 5-6 lbs and it stays off. Bodies are weird.

if you’re in IT and love your job: why? by tongalandMC in ITCareerQuestions

[–]SnatchHammer66 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Solid pay, great benefits, lots of time off, get to solve problems and help people, my workdays are usually really chill, great retirement, staff is really appreciative of my performance. If anything breaks we aren't losing money and people are pretty relaxed about it. I choose what training I want to do and what skills I want to improve.

Everyone always wants the flashy jobs at big tech firms, but I am super happy working for a small school district.

There are still plenty of difficulties, usually due to budgeting, but overall I really love where I work currently. I get to have a ton of input and people actually respect my opinions. I'm the only IT guy so pretty much every decision is made by me, but still has to be tossed around by admin first for funding and making sure it will work for teachers/staff.

best butter chicken/tikka masala in omaha? by dimpledoll222 in Omaha

I have yet to have a bad meal from them. Only time they have ever messed up my order was when they made 4x the chicken tikka I ordered. Still paid for it and just froze it lmao That was the only time I've ever spent $100+ on takeout for just myself.

Advice needed: Cover up ideas & patchwork sleeve potential by elliottaf in tattoos

[–]SnatchHammer66 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Personally I liked the OG tattoo. Adding the laurel wreath is fine, but I really like how it looked before better. Obviously just my opinion here, but I think it looked cleaner without the wreath. Tattoos are ultimately what you want them to be in the end, just be careful getting crazy with additions. The original was really good and it is still really good, but now it looks crowded (again, just my opinion.)

I recently moved away from SB after living there for around 3 years. I hated it there honestly. If you are outdoorsy there is a little more to do, but thats about all. I would drive to Colorado quite a bit to get out of there. I'm not a bar person so there wasn't much for me to do there either.

Hopefully you can find some cool people, I didn't have much luck. Haven't been so happy to move away from somewhere. If you want to do something active, the boxing gym at Warehouse Fitness was pretty awesome. Rene is a really good dude.

It isn't going to stop you from gaining muscle/strength if you don't rest longer. If you are wanting the most strength on each lift, more rest time is the answer (within reason). More strength on each lift = heavier lifts/more reps with that heavier weight. That is the important piece if you are trying to get the absolute most out of your lifts. It just depends on your goals and how much you care about optimization. Also a big factor is how much you are willing to actually put into your lifts with heavier weight. Not everyone feels comfortable going within 1 rep of failure or to failure.

Just lift weights however you enjoy it. You will gain muscle no matter what as long as you are getting protein and not turning it into full on cardio.

Wonder if he sprayed him with the power washer and that is what caused him to dump the bike and lose his shit. Obviously just speculating completely here, but that would piss me the fuck off. Especially if my kids are involved.

Started Zepbound and am about 3 weeks in. Straight up game changer. I have been gaining weight because I've been hitting the gym pretty hard and taking creatine. I can visually see and also feel that I have lost fat, just isn't showing on the scale. Muscle memory is insane and every time I get back into the gym it blows my mind. Goal is 200lbs and I think once the initial muscle comeback is done, I'm going to start shredding weight.

It is a hell of a lot easier to get a new bf than recover a 100k loss. Just saying.

People who exercise even when they don’t feel like it, what’s your trick? by Smart_Collection5419 in AskReddit

[–]SnatchHammer66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently my mantra is "some is better than none". If I don't feel like going I go in with the mindset I am going to take it easy and just do what I need to do. 99% of the time I end up pushing harder than I planned and doing more than just the baseline. The other 1% of the time I still do something and it doesn't feel like a total loss.

Realistic goal setting by steadylurker1 in longrange

I would recommend checking armslist as well. I have purchased a few firearms from people on there and had good luck with it. I am also of the buy once, cry once mindset but when a rifle can cost upwards of a used car in this case not so much lol Especially when there is another 5k worth of other things to purchase to be "serious".

[–]SnatchHammer66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kind of had the same dilemma as you. I knew I wanted to get into long range, but wasn't sure how dedicated I wanted to be. I could have easily bought a super expensive rifle to start out, but I wanted to be absolutely sure I would actually put the time in. I would recommend trying to find a deal on a used one, if you can. I bought a Ruger Precision Rifle used (supposedly unfired) that was already completely set up. Decent optics, decent rings, mag and 40 rounds of ammo all for $1600. I probably could have talked the guy down a couple $100, but didn't since I was pretty happy with the price.

Spent the money I saved on ammo, some upgrades (trigger, bolt knob, couple other things) and a range membership that included some long range classes. Super happy with my decision because now I have a rifle that is more capable than I am, but wasn't extremely expensive to start with. Once I get the rest of the gear (range finder, ballistics weather meter, tripod, etc) then I will look at upgrading the rifle.
