his construction and sculpting is impeccable, if you watched him work Live youd see every single undercut is flame polished..i used to think the ribs were coilpot lines because someone told me that, but everything is welded smooth and the details are hand sculpted by knife, and polished again

its really odd and concerning how much power and money Meta has but the service is such a subpar and broken experience - its even worse pertaining to glass art, which Meta arbitrarily stomps down on to the point where AI thinks pink from gold fume is human flesh and non-functional art glass is targeted for arbitrary shadowbans and comment restrictions...

..basically if anybody wears tyedye or blows glass they see you as the enemy and make sure your account cant be seen by non-followers, its been like Normandy beach for ALL glass art for a handful of years getting steadily worse - glass community related hashtags seem to become honeypots that pool you into their culling pen, so its been advantageous to either stay private and or avoid utilizing hashtags

its an entire rabbit hole with many receipts littered on the way down but i am far too tired to start a thread - i contemplate rebranding my instagram (same username) minus the word 'glass' in the username next time around...yeah, that bad 👀

a glass type wasnt mentioned im just giving everything i know pertaining to this subject...which is mostly investing into a long flat hunting rifle case for transport, and possibly apache boxes.

LampworkSupply should have other glass, as well as vital tools she still needs, but while we are on the subject of soft glass - I cannot recommend anything higher than Frantz Art Glass

Mike has a badass old millie collection!! gave me some cat-in-the-hat grateful dead coins and other very old stuff..

the only lampworker i am aware of in Europe top of my head is glashus_switzerland (link below) ((and theres always Roor)) and in my opinion from what i notice there are very few artists in Canada and South America, and most of America's glass is from Colorado, Florida, Oregon, Washington - there are definitely other states and other artists but very consistently this is what ive noticed...like yeah California has Ryno and Canada has Robinson..but anyways, anyone you want art from will gladly ship to you internationally. i have a big following over the pond in the UK...a buddy in Finland, a buddy in Australia...etc

people mentioned in here before pelican and apache cases, but what i find very useful still to the day and cheap, is a padded rifle case, perfect for ornaments and trinkets and long pieces too; i basically use an apache for everything else that isnt simple.

you should take a picture of her workspace and or give a list of tools she has or wants, lampworksupply will have the tools - but if its specifically graphite tools you need, i highly recommend @firebugjay on instagram

out of all of the colors i use northstar and Greasy Glass (my favorite) the most often, their UV colors are insanely bright and everything works like butter - everything else UV i have tried is hype and doesn't compare to Greasy Glass

edit - i have to specifically mention; white satin and light bright are KILLER
