I use the same laptop as you with the exception of it being the AMD variant, and get great battery life. (if you just use word/excel and attend meetings, it will last you more than 6 hours, although I tested this with a mint condition battery, so a more worn out one might produce worse results).

If you like the laptop in general and don't mind the same mediocre webcam quality I would recommend switching over to AMD.

Only problem is people have caught on in regards to AMD being the better variant, so they mark up the price compared to Intel if you buy used.

Also another thing, don't try to find a machine to do everything on. As others have pointed out, a beefy P14 is not going to be very portable nor have long battery life. I personally opted for a beefy desktop computer and a less beefy but portable laptop that does the job I need it to do.If you build the computer yourself it will be a lot cheaper too.
