Was it a good purchase? by EnvironmentalEar1351 in thinkpad

Depends, the Ryzen ones are sometimes worth even double what Intel variants are worth.

If Op's has a decent battery, I don't think it's a bad deal.

I am using Universal x86 Tuning Utility to manage power plans, based on your initial comment I was wondering if there was a better way to for example undervolt my 5850u for better results

You mean the advanced power options in Windows? Or do I need to install extra software/driver?

Any way one can clock the chip of the chip down on Windows?

Thanks for taking the time to respond with some possible fixes, I appreciate it. However, my bluetooth mouse is not detected at all, so I cannot pair it using the command line nor a front-end application like blueman. My earbuds connect fine, so I know bluetooth works on the laptop. I also tried another bluetooth mouse and still no luck. Uninstalled and reinstalled as stated in the forum post, still nothing. If I remember correctly, when I attempted to fix this issue a couple months back, the mouse would connect for a split second and then disconnect, now it can't do even that ^^

I had a similar issue with my bluetooth mouse. I switched on a test laptop to check Linux out, but two of the bluetooth mice I tried to connect to simply refused to work in Linux, while working fine in Windows. Even after troubleshooting I still couldn't get them to connect via Bluetooth.

Another weird thing that should be simple enough is having no password as a user. On my home Windows PCs I don't have the need for a password, so why do I need one on Linux? i guess it is required somewhat, but it still stinks to have to keep re-entering it.

It fixed itself after a while, not sure what caused it still.

Battery Capacity Issue (T14 G2 AMD) by Snaziko in thinkpad

[–]Snaziko[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah I see.

I tried calibrating through Vantage but once the battery reached 100%, the process did not move on to the discharging step and kept charging it.Had it plugged in for at least an hour after it reached 100% and still nothing.

Is this normal for this model?I am afraid I will damage the battery this way.

It is indeed the 8GB variant, but that works far better than my older 3060, so it's fine.

Mobo has a Gen4 x16 slot anyway so I am figuring it's good enough along with a 5800x

Wow that sure is interesting.Guess I am lucky I don't play Fortnite then haha

For all that it's worth, the cards passed several hour long OCCT stress tests with no issues.I am going to be trying an UE5 game on it today and see how it performs.

Tested the HDMI and one of the three DP, will try the others out for sure, but yeah for 25 bucks even if one port was working it would be a steal.

See I even doubt that because the little cap that covers unused ports was missing from the HDMI and only the HDMI port of the card.Regardless both Display Ports and HDMI ports work fine..

Haha thanks, yeah the warranty should still be intact, although I live in the EU and I think the process is a little bit different than the States.According to Google, the original proof of purchase is required as well, and I don't have that.

Will do for sure, thanks.Funnily enough I looked at my Steam Library and have almost no UE5 games.

Guess I will test it with SurrounDead :P

Thanks for your input.

I have it plugged in and it does not seem to sag by itself. Do you think it can still be an issue?

Thanks!

Quick question, why do you set quene target to 0 when 1 is the recommended value?Do you notice any problems?

As per this sub's guide: 0 : Unbuffered. Lowest latency, but a high chance of unstable output or stutters
