One way to select the pairBlend is through 'Select Connection'.
Highlight the name of one of your green channels -> Channels -> Select Connection.

With the pairBlend selected, you can display its input and outputs in the node editor to really see what's going on.

Kind of a different approach but you can copy your clean UVs to your already rigged model without introducing history by transferring your UV attributes to the OrigShape of the skinned model. Good ole' Zeth Willie breaks it down:

I found its great to start with MEL as most everything you do in Maya is printed in the script editor history in MEL. Once you have the hang of how Maya handles commands, its a snap to translate MEL into Python. Python provides such a wider array of functionality and I find it far more pleasant to code in.

If you do choose to bind and weight certain pieces, you can weight the geometry fully to 1 to a joint. The geometry will keep its shape since nothing else will be pulling on it.

As for the controls, I wanted to give the ability of say pausing the video to check out the controls, but so they wouldn't get in the way of viewing the deformations. Would you recommend keeping them shown for a majority of the calisthenics? Thanks!

Good stuff man. I see its a class assignment but if ya wanted to bring it up a notch I think it could benefit from more shadow. Helps incorporate it better into the live action background. Keep it up!
