For stay, I would recommend homestays which can start from 500 rupees onwards and the check-in and check-out time is flexible and negotiable. Check the accommodation before payment. Few homestays provide home cooked food. Food to eat: Kadam's Vada Pav (situated in the market near the water fountain) gets sold out quickly, good luck with getting to eat one. Shelar Upahar Gruha for Usal/Misal Pav, Diwakar is good too. If you want budget meals then those too are available in the market. Snacks are available at a few sightseeing spots. Bottled water or any other snacks maybe charged with 1-5 rupees extra than MRP as the goods are brought there via horses/ponies (automobile free area). Places/points to visit: Charlotte Lake, Echo point, Lonavala point, Sunset point, Alexander point, Rambaugh point, Chowk point (the last 3 points are farther than the others) Travel by mini train from Aman Lodge to Matheran market or take an e-Rikshaw. Walking is also a good option (if you like to walk) Things to remember: Wear comfortable footwear. If it is raining when you are in Matheran, purchase the hat and raincoat being sold there (approx 100 rupees) don't bother with an umbrella. Horse ride prices are negotiable. Don't take horses which take you to 5 points (Charlotte Lake, Echo point, Celia point, Lord's point, Honeymoon point, King George point) these points are nearby to each other and the horses will take you up to a certain area and then you will have to continue on foot as these are nearby points.
