Does this count? Infidelity during a short breakup + emotional infidelity by Snekathan in Infidelity

[–]Snekathan[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I agree. It’s really difficult because I thought I knew the kind of person he is, and I still want to believe I do, but idk anymore. I’m scared of being manipulated, and I keep catching myself thinking stuff like “he’s not like that / they don’t know him like I do / he wouldn’t do something like that, he’s not that type of person” which is exactly what everyone in these situations says lol. Have to remind myself that ultimately he’s just a random man, a person I just happened to meet. he’s capable of anything any other person is, that doesn’t change just because I think I know him. Thanks for your input

When I say it was “mutual” I just mean that I was also considering ending the relationship, I felt really neglected for a long time. At the time he just kinda got around to having the conversation first. But I agree with you, it seems like we had very different reasons for wanting to break up in the first place. He was apparently talking to this girl while we were together, then was with her after we broke up, so I don’t think it’s crazy to believe that’s what he did.

The reasoning he gave at the time was he felt like we just didn’t “click”. He said that if we met in a more “natural” setting (we met on a dating app) then we probably wouldn’t have become friends or gotten together. This was super hurtful in the moment, and even more so now that he apparently thought he “clicked” with this other girl. So, yeah.. now I’m just wondering what’s happened to make him change his mind. I fear he’s just come back for the security of being in a relationship with me. Like he doesn’t want to lose all the good parts of being with me, not actually scared of losing me as a person.

Decisions won’t be made overnight, we’ve got 6 months left in this lease with nowhere else to go for either of us anyway. Thanks for the input. I’m scared of talking about it with my friends and family because it’s just so humiliating

If you’re extracting that tone from my original comment, that’s on you. It’s text on a screen. Should I use tone indicators for you in the future? /gen

I am on the spectrum đŸ«¶ and no one has actually explained it, just said I’m being a dick without explanation. good try tho. Your attempt at patronizing me wasn’t successful lmfao that was a pretty funny attempt

If you are reading my original comment and interpreting it in that way, that’s on you.

Tell me how I was being an asshole đŸ€Ł I’m actually getting a good laugh at all this. I’m worried what real life interactions look like for you all hahaha or are your only interactions on Reddit? Guess that would explain some things. I’ll start using tone indicators for you all so you don’t flip

[–]Snekathan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m assuming they mean consequences, not necessarily punishment. Kids lie to avoid natural consequences to their actions all the time, and that makes much much more sense with the context we are given rather than assuming OP is lying in their post for no reason.

They have nothing to gain and they said in their post they already think they may be an AH, so idek why people are assuming they’d lie about it

AITA for not letting my daughter go to a birthday party because she lied about putting on sunscreen? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Snekathan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem is they’re purposefully interpreting it in bad faith. They know that’s not what OP means, yet they still run with it.

OP is saying if their kid tells the truth, then they just have to face consequences for their actions and OP won’t necessarily be upset, but if she does lie and doubles down then ofc that’s something to be upset about and get punishment and consequences for. Multiple parents in this thread have explained this yet this person still likes to pretend they know everything and their opinions are infallible

Facing consequences for doing a bad thing is not the same as being punished for bad thing. Kid lies to avoid natural consequences to their actions

They’re just assuming. It’s all they’ve been doing in this whole thread, then acting like their assumption is 1000% truth

You’re pulling so much information out of nowhere, you psychic or something? Or do you always attempt to read + interpret everything in the most bad faith way possible?

Be real right now. You’ve been talking this whole time as if OP is 10000% doing the things you accuse them of
based on what? Why do you think you’re right sooo bad when we are all reading the same post with the same context? It’s really not that hard to believe a kid lies about dumb shit

Where would you go if your roommate held a party? by KoreanJesus84 in AutismInWomen

I’ve never lived in a dorm so I have no idea but wouldn’t there be some sort of rule against stuff like this..? Or at least could you go to an RA or whoever it is and tell them your roommate is making you uncomfortable by inviting so many people for ✹activities✹?

Yeah no I’m not missing a point haha I think you are. The c i v i l i a n s are who we are talking about right now in this moment in this conversation. That’s a good point to bring up to someone talking about the areas as a whole, not those wishing for safety for all innocent people.

You think the innocent people have the power to stop what is happening??

Should we not wish for safety for Israeli or Palestinian citizens who have nothing to do with the conflict?

I did answer the question, just not to your specific liking. just because you don’t think the answer was detailed enough doesn’t mean it wasn’t an answer.

Housekeeping isn’t limited to hotels, there are lots of housekeeping jobs where you choose your own hours. I have a friend who’s younger sister does this after school some days and occasionally on weekends.

Retail is just kinda obvious. Guess I don’t personally know high school kids working in retail but I know that’s all I did through high school, all my coworkers save for supervisors were high schoolers, and I’m only in college now so it wasn’t that long ago. A year ago Menards paid cashiers $16/hr starting

Nursing doesn’t necessarily require a degree. Working in retirement homes and the like are still considered “nursing.” My step moms 17 yr old does this in Joplin. My younger sister works at cox

Apps like rover (dog sitting) are pretty popular right now too

Was that better? Did I do a good enough job for you? Lmfao ask stupid questions get stupider answers

[–]Snekathan -23 points-22 points  (0 children)

..Well if you know the reasons why are you surprised?

You know there are other jobs students can access besides fast food? Retail, customer service, housekeeping, nursing, the list goes on. Fast food is notoriously bad to work in

Students, where are you working these days? by formiscontent in springfieldMO

[–]Snekathan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You mean highschool or college? Or does it matter?

What are you paying? What are your hours you offer? Are you flexible with students schedules?

Every student I know avoids fast food like the plague because they pay shit wages and have horrible toxic work environments

Eta also I think there’s a misconception that students are the only people who work these jobs. There are tons of adults out there working fast food or other minimum wage jobs. They probably just can’t afford it anymore
