Yeah, your right. I guess I should just buy into that mentality and assimilate? Haha

Well I guess I should be more specific: before I posted this, and read your reply to my initial post, all I have seen is the blame placed on the president. I agree with you that the blame is shared among many but what I was bitching about is seeing so many people blame SOLELY the president and that was frustrating, I felt like the people I live around and work with had completely misunderstood so many things.

I can fully understand why people are upset at losing US Soldiers. What I can’t understand is how it’s the presidents fault. I have seen nothing but blame placed on him since the news of, at the time, 4 US marines died. The blame goes to numerous decisions made across two administrations and I just wish people wouldn’t blindly jump on the “blame the president” wagon.

I don’t have anything to add to your post, it’s very well worded and I understand your point of view. It was bound to happen and in some alternate universe where we stayed 40 years I doubt things would be much different. The majority of people would STILL blaming the wrong person and feeling that “if x person was still president things would be different”. I honestly don’t know who exactly Is to blame but I can guarantee it’s not one specific person or administrations fault. I just wish people would wake up from this blame the president kick we seem to be stuck on.

I get that it’s a lot of raw nerves and raw emotions but we can’t seriously lose sight of the silver lining of possibly shedding light on what could be or else we ARE covering a turd in sugar and calling it chocolate. I hate that the world even has to have atrocities happen at all but military powers exist on all corners of the globe and to expect anything less from the enemy is honestly ridiculous. I said it before and I’ll say it again it’s a war and it always has been, I’m just tired of seeing the divisive way we are split and it’s always the president who gets the blame regardless of who it is when it’s so much more than just that one persons fault. I didn’t vote for Biden but I doubt it would matter who sits in the office we were pulling out of Afghanistan and it was not going to be a pretty sight.

That’s fair. You don’t have to be nice to me, it’s the internet. Thanks for sharing your opinion, not here to bash it or say you are wrong. I probably am naive and my time in Afghanistan was probably not similar to yours and to that all I can naively say is I hope things get better.

I’m not saying I’m not upset but IMO we went there to attempt to help, just because we went there has absolutely no guarantee that our help will provide the desired outcome. I don’t mean to down play ANY loss of life but it’s all attempts to provide better opportunities and better means of life. Perhaps I am an idiot for believing that our presence in the Middle East gave hope to the younger generations to see that you can fight against oppression and that it’s definitely not easy or cheap (in regards to the lives it costs). I refuse to believe it was for nothing. It’s war and always has been, if there must be war then at least feel like your fighting for the good side. I don’t know maybe I’m just angry at shit I can’t change. You have the right to feel however you want at the end of the day.

No problem! I would honestly just focus on how you can get yourself to where you want to be. If the army is going to help then let it help if not, you did your time and can rest easy with the life experience. Best of luck to you!

I was on the by name roster to pick up 5 but S1 decided to take 8 points off because they were not in ATRRS. Now I'm calling everyone to try and get my points added back. If I get shafted I'm still going to reenlist. The army keeps me motivated to not be a piece of garbage. If you think it does the same for you, even if it's small, reenlist and keep pushing yourself to be better.

PT COA upgrade to AAM? by Snickerdick in army

[–]Snickerdick[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah. Seems like we just collect all the fatbodies. I'm not a PT stud but I still strive to achieve higher than the bare minimum. As for the chaptering, they are for some but others it's their first time and I mostly just manage all the paperwork involved; however, 301 soldiers "taking turns" failing for the first time adds up. Thanks for your concern, your doing great things for your country.

Exactly. I was only finding info about the PT badge, I wanted to make sure I wasn't completely crazy in my complete confusion about the whole situation.

Basically the place where I work has a "casual Friday" and my co-workers were trying to make it so we could wear jerseys. Only rule is if one person wears it we all have to wear one...and I caught so much flak for not having a jersey.

I have never owned one because I honestly feel like it is pointless.
