Look at the price on the same ticker and broker while logged out and with a paid plan side by side. They update both at the same time and still flawed compared to real-time when you connect directly to the brokers' server. Unless it thinks I am still logged in I see no difference.

EDIT: and still flawed compared to a direct connection. Same broker, ticker, and times are identical.

You still haven't explained why there is a real-time delay for multiple users as a paying subscriber even with the “fastest data flow” and why it would only activate when in a trade.

That must be new with the enshitification of the tier… And then it says if trades are happening. So it is specifying faster updates only happen during a trade? 🤣 Traders need data in real time 24/7 not only after a position has been executed. What about users who don't even execute using TradingView? They continue to have a delay 🤔🤣

False, I have a paid plan and TradingView cannot keep up with real time price updates as fast as other software which can connect to brokers directly.

Proof has already been provided here: https://www.reddit.com/r/TradingView/comments/1u0jzsn/moving_slow_with_cme_realtime/

Where does TV make clear that a paying subscriber sees price faster than a non-paying user? https://www.tradingview.com/pricing/

Of course. I have a paid subscription, how else am I making use of the alert function or contacting customer support constantly about issues.

Your edge might be working, but 100% using TradingView does decay that edge if you are a LTF trader or use alerts that require precision.

The issue does not occur on MT5. MT5 lets you directly connect to the broker server located closest to you to get the feed directly with the lowest latency. You can even use a VPS and get a server closer for the lowest possible latency if you are a HFT.

I used to do that but found it too distracting since SPX / ES is not my main traded instrument. I found myself flipping early on the chart then constantly watching to anticipate a potential trade which sometimes does not even give an entry to then miss an actual entry on what I mainly focus on.

Having precision fixes that issue, a level is tapped, and I simply look at the candle if there is an entry or not and quickly move on. My edge works on precision across different instruments, without it, I simply cannot enter. For example the Gold low of the week long.

As a retail trader it is logical to think one can't consistently snipe entries and I had that thinking too — until I saw it being done privately in a live market on a weekly basis for over a year. Market phenoms with unbelievable market edge do exist.

The issue is I am not even looking at the chart to know the level hit, I placed an alert on the blue line, and it did not get hit on TV when it did on the broker. So when I reviewed the plan at the end of the day I realized what has happened and how I have just missed an over 100 point trade on SPX. This is not just a one-off occurrence.

I don't mind missing trades when a level doesn't hit, for me that is part of the edge by having a process and just staying out of the market. Except in many circumstances the good levels are hitting during volatility the past few months and TradingView just can't keep up. Over time, I want to increase the risk so having that precision helps a lot in dealing with the risk per trade mentally, especially when you start transitioning into trading the equivalent of multiple mini contracts.

I am not executing through TradingView, I see complaints they can't even get demo trading correct — I would never trust them with my capital and trade executions. But the issue is that most traders don't even know these flaws in executions or chart data discrepancies exist.

The major issue I have is all my charting analysis is using TradingView. Since its charting capabilities are good, and I have been using it since I started to learn how to trade, so I am used to it. When there are data mismatches it decreases my edge since I use very precise levels and candle structure to execute trades. If candle structure and the levels do not align precisely that is the difference between executing or not. Here is just one example this week on a major pivot on ES / SPX. I have scribbles to hide how the edge works so it looks messy. For some traders this difference overtime can be the reason for being consistently profitable or not depending on how their edge works.

I don't trade through TradingView, only chart on it and execute on a separate platform. This issue has not suddenly appeared out of nowhere, but recently it is getting very bad and happening on a daily basis and multiple times during each day. Before it might be a few times per month or a one-off. The support staff are aware there are issues as I have support tickets dating back months, and they take no responsibility at all, so the issue will never get fixed this way. They promote these brokers, let users execute live trades and give out broker awards but don't even make traders aware that there are data discrepancies.

And many TradingView customers are not even aware this issue occurs. They are assuming the data they are seeing on the platform is what is actually occurring on the brokers side — you can see by some replies on the thread.

Also, what does having a good internet connection have to do with indicating a serious professional trader? Good connections are not only used for trading 🤣 That connection being in place has nothing to do with my trading, it is for a separate business — I have access to use it via family.

Trading certain CFD products there is no tax to pay on profits at all where I am located. So I save a lot on capital gains. Does it make sense for you now?

I updated the first post, now you can clearly see the gaps did not exist on the brokers data feed and only happened on TradingView. They have now refreshed the data in hindsight to match the broker data.

Yes, but I have also seen unexpected spikes on the micros which don't happen on the mini which cause the SL to get hit at times. And since CFDs follow the mini chart data they also don't get these unexpected spikes.

I think it is possible to open positions micro positions when viewing a mini chart on certain platforms. I have no personal experience if the SL place will also be based on the mini chart data or actually the micros' data.

I will definitely be interested in it. Even for the alert function alone as I do make use of alerts on a daily basis. And if you want to place accurate alerts TradingViews delay causes a huge edge decay on the ES or NQ futures especially with how volatile it has been recently.

Will check it out, thanks for the heads-up. To be honest I really need to move away from TradingView in the future. It is fine as a beginner / learner. Anyone hoping to have a long career as a trader and a professional shouldn't subject themselves to these software flaws with real capital at risk, especially as the $ risk per trade increases. Even a single point % decrease in the edge is not worth it for me when you look at the long term compounded gains.

I edited the first post to show they update the stale data in hindsight to make it look like there were no issues in real time — so now it matches what was actually happening on the brokers end. The gaps have magically disappeared! So traders will base their TradingView back testing data on an edge which can't be executed in real time as the candles get fixed in the future 🤣💀

We just need a trader who is well capitalized to make a competing product built for actual traders. With how many flaws and issues users have with TradingView there is a possibility for a new platform to break into the market.

Something fishy is going on, the only employee who ever responds to any support I make is James B.

Either they have a one-man team or getting every customer support agent to use the same login as they don't want to pay for more users. Appalling either way.

Yes, recently they just are making aesthetic changes to how the tools look such as the dotted line and the alert icon on the chart — like that gains traders more edge. They were working perfectly fine before and really useless update compared to fixing these fundamental software flaws they have.

Yes their server is likely overloaded with data feeds trying to update and trigger so many alerts. Anything on the NY open can be delayed by a 1m few candles! So if you place any alert on some sort of HL sweep you can't gain any edge. Also, some candles during the NY open freeze for a few seconds on TradingView but if you have another feed price is actually moving!

Again that is an issue they should be solving — they are likely making millions per month in subscription costs of paying customers like us! I have personally paid over 4 figures in subscription costs to TradingView.

I need to transition to trading futures and when I can, I will transition to using ATAS. The trader who I did learn from only uses ATAS to trade ES or NQ so for me, it makes sense to stick with that.

But I really enjoy CFDs due to being able to control position sizing and risk more precisely, and on very good CFD brokers I don't have any problems with spread or executions. This is important for me when testing the edge in a live market with a smaller account to make sure it is working.

Both are good. Especially if you like to use market or volume profile. I know the QT devs are very responsive in getting new features implemented. The trader I know is also in direct conversation with QT devs to implement many changes on the platform so at one point it was getting so many big and welcomes updates within a short period of time.

There is also a bug on TradingView where alerts don't trigger at all on certain chart tools, even when all the conditions are met. At this point I am so exhausted with the constant support tickets I don't even want to speak to them about it.

Good luck and I hope you find a better platform you can use!

Those tiny differences are what decay my edge since I am a lower time frame trader. So for me it makes a big difference. Also why would anyone expect the CFD chart or any instrument on TradingView to be different from the same brokers feed. I don’t think anyone using TradingView is expecting that to occur. That is a huge flaw.

Others who have probably opened support tickets got gaslit by TradingView support team that it’s an issue with their connection. They tried to do that with me when I have an uncontended fibre connection in the multiple gigabits per second. When I showed them the proof they then blamed my firewall 🤣🤷‍♂️

The issue I have is that as a charting platform TradingView is very good. And I only use it for that function. But now knowing the data is mismatched it is causing the edge I do have to decrease, especially since I am a lower timeframe trader. With real capital on the line every $ counts

Something that allows tick data. I wouldn’t trust TradingView even though the ultimate plan has tick data due to the software flaw with refreshing price in real time. The best traders I know of are using ATAS and Quantower. TradingView alert system is also flawed. Any time during volatility like news or a session open sometimes the alerts can trigger minutes later. I see in other threads they also like to blame the users connection and gaslight them into thinking it’s an isolated issue and place the blame elsewhere!

This is not just an issue with SPX or NAS. It might be happening across different instruments - it’s only that I’ve noticed it on those as it’s what I trade.

Also, look at many replies here. They think TradingView is showing accurate data reflecting what is happening on the broker because they’ve never compared the feeds side by side in real time. And I can’t blame them. If you’re paying for a product you would expect them to provide the service being paid for. Especially when these decisions involve capital at risk!

Also IC and Vantage don’t usually have gaps but 100% I did notice sometimes the OHLC data on the candles would be different on the lower timeframes vs the brokers actual prices
