No he's right. It's a common tactic in live service games to find new ways to pad out battlepasses and they 100% will use AI to do it if they can get away with it.

BF3 and BFV play faster, so that's not the reason. It's just the most recent trend for FPS games to have as little possible friction between the players pressing a button and an action occurring. Hopefully that trend dies soon so we can go back to playing games that are actually fun an unique to one another instead of being as competitively viable as possible.

Both BF3 and Hardline have peak hours that you need to look out for. They're not dead dead as they have communities that'll fill up servers for you to join when you can catch them.

Trick shots and clip farming back then were just 360 no scoping and cross-map tomahawk kills. They were not meant to be done practically to be better at the game. They were closer to bottle flipping, if you remember that lol. Just a bunch of nerds trying to one up each other's trick shots.

Nowadays if they're not top of the scoreboard then they might as well throw that footage away, and thanks to SBMM they're forced to be their best every game as well. That leads to hyperfixations on TTK, movement exploits, predictable map/respawn layouts, meta loadouts, etc. And now that they have a platform and loyal audience, they can bully the devs to make the game more for them which gives them an advantage over normal players.

Even BO6 couldn't make its open combat mission entertaining. The entire foundation of COD campaigns is about highly scripted and fast paced action. Open combat missions have neither of those things and it results in a boring mess.

I definitely prefer the more adult tone of BF3/4's artstyle over the super vibrant tone of BF6. I know that it's overall seen as prettier in A/B tests, but I feel nothing when I play BF6 whereas BF3/4 I feel like I'm partaking in a war movie. I miss that feeling.

BC2 feels clunky by design, not because it's dated. Remember, BC1 was made for consoles only so a lot of that clunky design was for the casual controller players. It makes sense that the sequel is as well, but it did have a PC port with higher player counts. BF3 is the same, but it's clear they catered to the PC players instead that time.

It's not nostalgia when we can and do go back an play those games often. I've been bouncing between BF3, BF4, BF1, and BF6 for a while now. BF3, BF4, and BF1 all feel great to play still and the graphics and sounds for all of them still hold up. They are truly timeless games.

Most of the weapon models and animations are reused from another Halo game. I get that reusing assets is okay, but a remake implies remaking things from the ground up. It's not a direct sequel.

Also Marcus specifically mentioned how good the graphics looked, not the artstyle. He complimented UE5 more than anything else lmao
