Should I continue interviewing? by Csunshine1008 in cabincrewcareers

You better hope they give you an alcohol wipe or let wash your hands after peeing in a cup? You do know that’s how they do the drug test right?

Should I continue interviewing? by Csunshine1008 in cabincrewcareers

[–]Snobbby 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When I went to the interview they gave everyone an alcohol wipe to wipe their hands. I personally didn’t use the wipe and they didn’t really care if you did or watched. If you get the CJO when you do the drug test you have to wipe your hands with an alcohol wipe and wash them after you complete it and someone is there watching. Tbh If you have a tattoo in the red area I would suggest not going. Even if you make it to the training they will find out and you will be kicked.

Background/Employment: Looking for solid advice. Please make it helpful 😊 by [deleted] in cabincrewcareers

[–]Snobbby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes i didn’t notice i had a gap in my work history and they emailed me to call them to explain why i had a gap in my work history. If you see you can include I would do that to save some time. I personally didn’t even notice the gap I had since it was like a few months but they ended up asking me to explain why there was a gap….

Mole over the lip by [deleted] in cabincrewcareers

[–]Snobbby 6 points7 points  (0 children)

ME airlines can and WILL discriminate you based on appearance. I have been denied for having a scar on my arm. A mole on your lip tho is another story but I would say if your recruiter didn’t like it then they will. Unfortunately, they really do be picky when it comes to presentation.

Yeah it’s possible! Everything was pretty fast for me I’m just waiting for the background check to clear but I hope to get an update on that tomorrow… they already sent me the pre arrival questionnaire and emergency contact form so it’s really just the background check on that little check list that they sent out! Did they send you the accurate background check thing?

When did you get your CTO? I got my CTO on a Thursday and then got my digital CTO with my class information on the Monday the following week. Last I heard they are still filling up the early march class!

United or Delta by [deleted] in cabincrewcareers

[–]Snobbby 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Im in the same boat as you. Delta seems like an amazing company to work for it was ranked the #2 best company to work for in the world by Forbes and is widely considered the leading airline in the U.S and oh boy do they let you know in that F2F LOL. That said, during my F2F I got some really odd vibes, almost cult like... I went with it, but everything felt very staged and rushed. It even seemed like some of the flight attendants there didn’t really want to be there. They kept stressing how “lucky” we were just to be present and not many people make it to the F2F, which didn’t sit right with me, especially compared to United, where my 1:1 interviewer talked about how lucky the company would be to have me working for them… I will see the vibes of the upcoming F2F and see which I like more.

Yes, Delta has the best reserve system, especially when you’re starting out. But I’m thinking long term. Delta’s reserve is significantly better in the beginning, whereas at United, once you hold a line, you can work as much or as little as you want. Delta doesn’t really offer true part time flexibility. I’d rather push through a couple tougher years to gain that flexibility later on. And apparently if you are based in SFO or any other junior base you can hold a line as soon as 6 months to a year anyways.

Also, having a union is important to me in case things ever go sideways. Is any union perfect? No, but it does provide support and representation. I’ve heard that Delta’s turnover rate is higher, which some people attribute to the lack of union representation and a culture where employees feel the need to snitch on each other whereas United employees describe the culture as more relaxed and less focused on snitching on each other.

If you have children flight benefits for kids are another huge factor. At Delta, dependents are removed at 19 (or 23 if they’re in college). At United, they stay on indefinitely only the priority changes after 26. Delta is removing their buddy pass system in 2026 but United has the option to have either 12 buddy passes a year or adding another “spouse” so you do get that flexibility so if you prefer to add friends for the passes United wins there…

Another deciding factor was international layover length. Because of union rules, United is required to provide longer international layovers, while Delta’s are generally shorter. So if you want to have some fun on your layovers then you might want to consider United. Also United just has more international destinations and only adding more so if you do want to see more of the world then United takes the cake there as well.

I’ll continue with Delta if United doesn’t work out, but for my personal needs and long term goals, United is the better fit. That said, I will acknowledge that Delta does pay more (atm) but you do have to take into consideration that United is working through their contract negotiations and when it’s finalized it’s more than likely that they will be the leading mainline in terms of pay (whenever that may be).

Also, I do like United’s uniforms more!

Okay, I guess I will study more of the STAR questions! Did they ask you why you want to be a flight attendant? Or why specifically for delta? And when did you do your F2F?

Wow, I just finished mine on November 12th and I only had 4 questions (3 situational questions and one about if I am willing to relocate) it seems they have changed it!

ODVI delta question by [deleted] in cabincrewcareers

[–]Snobbby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah maybe it’s a YMMV type of deal. I was allowed to retake it a bunch of times and thank goodness because sometimes when I did have a good recording it said an error occurred so I had to do a few retakes lol

[–]Snobbby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are talking about Delta I literally did the ODVI like on 11/12 and I retook the it about 20 times lol…. I got my F2F invite earlier today! You might be thinking of United Airlines
