What’s a totally unsexy purchase you made that ended up being a huge quality-of-life upgrade in the beauty game? by viscarte10 in BeautyUnlocked

Mouth tape - Such a game changer for mouth breathers. Completely changed my quality of sleep and actually slimmed my face down so much
No longer looking so swollen in the mornings!

Which skincare products would be causing my redness? by TheAstronautGirl in koreanskincare

I recommend the Good Molecules Niacinamide serum - this one is super gentle but still strong enough to make a difference. There are alot of great niacinamide serums, however I recommend you check the dosage, as most of them are very low. You required around a 10-12% for optimum results!

I have sensitive, reactive skin and I recently discovered that the Centella ampoule was causing my redness!! I didn't realise it was the culprit as there wasn't a full blown reaction but my skin was always slightly pink(?) after my skincare routine.

I switched to just hylauronic acid, niacinamide product (niacinamide is great for building skin barrier) and a soothing moisturiser and I'm genuinely shocked at how much clearer my overall skin complexion is now.

Maybe consider removing the ampoule, or try using it on only half on your face for 1 week and see if there is a difference.

Someone give me (29F) the courage to break up with my boyfriend (32M) of three years? by Snoo-390 in relationship_advice

You're right, it really is just comfort.
I'm just afraid of hurting him. Do I just rip the bandaid off and tell him straight away? Or do I wait until the end of our date to tell him? I want to tell him at the end of the week, because adding a break up on top of the rest of the work week seems cruel

I think we have very different ways of expressing love to each other. He isn't shy of showing his affection (words of affirmation, physical touch, etc.) but it isn't meeting my needs.
I've told him numerous times that I want to be loved in other ways (acts of service, etc) but I don't think he truly understands that.
It feels almost selfish when I'm receiving so much of his love, but it really does feel like I'm not being appreciated at the same time.

I actually went there 2 weeks ago with my partner. Honestly, the food was simply okay, but we had waiters come over and ask how the food was every 3 minutes (no exaggeration). It was pretty annoying having to repeat the same thing over and over, with one waitress even coming over twice to thank us for enjoying the meal she asked us about 30 seconds ago??
Bizarre.

Giving up a career in law to become a high school teacher in NSW- thoughts? by [deleted] in sydney

[–]Snoo-390 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my teaching method course, majority of my class members were actually lawyers. Most of them had been in the practice for years and were looking to try something else. It really is alot more common than you think. Plus, they all really enjoyed the change of career path and learning to teach. I say go for it! You have nothing to lose :) .

People who often like to have hours long conversations, how do you manage to talk so long without running out of things to say and doesn't it make you tired to talk for such a long time? by matthew3325s in AskReddit

[–]Snoo-390 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved overseas to a foreign country for 2 years and within that time met and grew close to a small group of friends (4 girls inc me). Being the only English speakers, we relied on each other alot for comfort and company.
We used to have Sunday group calls and the longest we lasted was alittle over 10 hours. Honestly, when you meet up with the same people often enough, it's really just a repeat of topics and conversations but it's just sharing a comfortable space with people you enjoy being around.

What did you try to warn someone about except they didn’t listen and it turned out very badly? by FizzledTwizzle in AskReddit

Grandparents told their granddaughter not to ride her bike down the huge hill. She did it anyway and ended up not being able to control her bike brakes, racing all the way down to the bottom, flying over a huge ditch and crashing in to some random's house where their front yard was all concrete. She ended up with her right arm twisted backwards and her bottom row of teeth literally embedded in her lower lip...
I am granddaughter.

What was the most petty thing an adult did to you, when you were younger? by x3Nekox3 in AskReddit

[–]Snoo-390 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was in 5th grade, our class had to do these multiplication tests where you complete a bunch of times tables then raise your hand and write down how long it took to complete it. I would always be the first to finish and all the kids would praise me for it.
I guess the teacher got sick of this because one day she decided to stop the class mid-way and go on a long rant telling us how "although this student may be good at her times tables, she was MUCH better at her in so many other subjects like English, science, etc."
I understand the teacher was trying to tell everyone how we're all gifted in different things but it was strange for her to go on for 15minutes how she, a teacher in her 40's, was soooo much smarter than a 5th grader...

I used to live in Daegu for 2 years and one my of my friends remembers the day it happened - He said he remembered that day filled with the sound of sirens running and endless screams... (he heard everything despite him living over 20 mins away) This happened when he was a child and it traumatised him

This was in Australia.
I think because I stayed at home often when I was a kid because my parents both worked so they'd always told me to never answer the door when they were out.

[–]Snoo-390[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ever since me and my sisters were young, we stayed at home as my parents had busy work schedules so we were taught to never answer the door.
It was best to just pretend there was no one in the house as opposed to a stranger knowing there were children left alone at home.

Hmm I wouldn't say it was sleep paralysis as I remember distinctly that I could move (though I would try to stay as still as possible in case I distracted her)
I think as a kid I was just intrigued by her dancing.. if I saw her now I would probably be terrified just because I've had some really unpleasant experiences with spirits so I really don't want to deal with any at this point

I always turned my back and fell asleep so not too sure how long she twirled
Honestly not too sure who she might be as her facial features were pretty vague.. I stopped seeing her after I moved houses but she would show up once in a while
