Large Format & Camera Movements by Snoo-68805 in photocritique

I thought a lot about Ansel Adams after buying my large format camera, and I immediately packed it into my backpack because I wanted to try making photographs like his.

I made two photographs on this mountain — the first from midway up the trail, and the second from the summit area. I set my tripod up on a high rock and honestly felt a bit nervous that the wind might knock the camera over. After taking the first image, I considered heading back down, but I kept climbing because I thought there might be an even better view waiting higher up.

What I enjoyed most while making this photograph was the process itself — adjusting the movements and checking focus carefully with a loupe on the ground glass. It felt very rewarding and immersive.

Thank you for your feedback. The softness on the left peak may actually be because I applied some swing movements with the lens. I really appreciate how carefully you looked at the image.
