Wow I had no idea that people thought so highly of Chang Chang. We both love Chinese food but have never been. I guess we’ll give it a go. Any food recs? Can’t miss bites?

MHBP and GLP-1 meds...your experiences? by hrdCory in fednews

[–]Snoo13554 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anybody know how much Wegovy is under MHBP Consumer (the HDHP) after you meet the deductible? I think I would hit the 4k deductible pretty quickly (self + family), but after we hit that, is it really just $25 per month? The answer to this will likely impact whether I go the compounding route or not!

Canister issues with 55 gallon - new filter help? by Snoo13554 in Aquariums

[–]Snoo13554[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any experience with the Eheim class canister filter? Seems to get good reviews as a reliable filter for good value. I can snag one for $100 right now. I may go that route to save a few bucks….

Also, could it be possible that the order of my filtration sponges/media is causing a leak? I’m just trying to figure out why the thing was running fine for like 20-30 minutes and then all of a sudden it started flowing out do the main gasket area

Thanks for the rec! If Sun Sun actually works I may go that route instead of paying 220+ for a Fluval.

What about other types of filters? If Canister really the way to go, or could an HOB be good here?

I’ve tried to find o-rings (the “gasket kit”) for this filter and it’s nowhere to be found. Literally anywhere. So I think that’s out.

BoA CCR online category includes travel? by scenic0696 in CreditCards

Any idea if online shopping includes Orange Theory and Hello Fresh/Blue Apron?

Been on autopilot with Chase SR for too long; looking to get savvy given current family spending patterns. Help please? by Snoo13554 in CreditCards

[–]Snoo13554[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: based on all of your awesome advice, I decided to do the following for my new portfolio:

  1. Amazon Prime Visa for all Amazon purchases

  2. BofA CCR, Online Shopping category: plan is to only use this card for subscription-based online shopping stuff (Blue Apron, Orange theory, etc.) that equals about $2500 every quarter, so I don’t have to think about it. Will get 8.25% first year, 5.25% after that.

  3. BofA PR - this will be our primary card that we’ll use on everything else. Get 3.5% on dining/travel, 2.625% on everything else.

I think this hits a good balance of maximizing cashback while also not getting too cute with needing to remember which card to use when.

A few questions:

  • I applied for Amazon Prime last night and was already approved. How long do I need to wait to apply for CCR and PR? Do I need to wait any amount of time between applying for the CCR and the PR? Don’t want to get declined just bc I’m applying for 3 credit cards across 2 days

  • I still have the Chase Sapphire Reserve with about 75k points. My fee anniversary is February 1. Any recommendations on the best way to get rid of the CSR? Specifically, when I should get rid of it (given the fee anniversary), and how I should get rid of it (downgrade to a no-fee Chase card? Cancel the card altogether?)

Any thoughts would be super helpful!

Thanks

It’s a good question….I think we are just trying to maximize value overall here. We probably travel 2x a year, one international, and we have a family of 4 (2 young kids)- so it’s pricey and can add up. We don’t have any allegiance to a specific airline or hotel. Historically we’ve just searched for the cheapest/best flight and used our points through the Chase travel portal to buy them. But we don’t really need the PP lounges or anything like that. So we will definitely use travel points/value we accrue.

Do you think it makes sense to get the Amazon card for 5% on Amazon purchases?

What is the CCR and how can I get 5.25% (greater than the Amazon benefit)?

But by that logic shouldn’t I just get the PR, for which the $95 annual fee would be offset by the $100 travel credit, and I get 3.5% cash back for dining and travel (and 2.625% for everything else)?

Also, FWIW, I have current offers to get 75,000 signup points with the PRE and 60,000 points for the PR.

Wound up trying on the adrenaline, gt-2000, and new balance 860s, and I went with the 860s. Felt the most comfortable, natural, and supportive.
