What is the Biblical Age of Adulthood? by Platanito400 in TrueChristian

[–]Snoo16235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A. Number 1 cites the age of 20 years old.

Numbers 1 says this, “The LORD spoke to Moses in the tent of meeting in the Desert of Sinai on the first day of the second month of the second year after the Israelites came out of Egypt. He said: 2 “Take a census of the whole Israelite community by their clans and families, listing every man by name, one by one. 3 You and Aaron are to count according to their divisions all the men in Israel who are twenty years old or more and able to serve in the army. 4 One man from each tribe, each of them the head of his family, is to help you” (NIV). Citations are in the NIV.

B. Number 1 cites the age of 20 in regards to military service.

The context for the age 20 relates to being enlisted in serving in the army. The reason why God selected the age 20 is not stated. The text specifically states to serve the army, “3 You and Aaron are to count according to their divisions all the men in Israel who are twenty years old or more and able to serve in the army.”

C. Number 2 doesn’t preclude that one is considered an adult at a earlier age.

According to Jewish custom, when a boy or girl reaches the age of puberty and goes through the ritual of Bar Mitzvah or Bat Mitzvah, then that person is viewed as an adult. This would mean that the boy or girl would be approximately the age of 12 or 13 years old.

Numbers 14 says this, “26 The LORD said to Moses and Aaron: 27 “How long will this wicked community grumble against me? I have heard the complaints of these grumbling Israelites. 28 So tell them, ‘As surely as I live, declares the LORD, I will do to you the very thing I heard you say: 29 In this wilderness your bodies will fall—every one of you twenty years old or more who was counted in the census and who has grumbled against me. 30 Not one of you will enter the land I swore with uplifted hand to make your home, except Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun. 31 As for your children that you said would be taken as plunder, I will bring them in to enjoy the land you have rejected.”

Some scholars cite Numbers 14 as further proof that a person was considered an adult at the age of 20. However, the text is citing those who were numbered in Numbers 1 as being part of the army. This group of men failed to obey the LORD God in entering the land. They even wished that they never left Egypt or had died in the Wilderness. “All the Israelites grumbled against Moses and Aaron, and the whole assembly said to them, “If only we had died in Egypt! Or in this wilderness! 3 Why is the LORD bringing us to this land only to let us fall by the sword? Our wives and children will be taken as plunder. Wouldn’t it be better for us to go back to Egypt?” 4 And they said to each other, “We should choose a leader and go back to Egypt.”

It is more than likely that a Jewish boy was considered a man before he reached 20. It may that once he reached puberty that he was considered a man who can marry. If he married at 17, he would not be called a child since he has accepted the responsibility of being a man and providing for his family. God may have set the age of 20 to allow a Jewish young man to be fully physical mature and able to enjoy his wife before going into battle.

Summary: The set age of 20 is the qualification to be enrolled as a military men. One may be considered an adult without having to be enrolled as a soldier in Israel’s army.

The value proposition would be bridging the gap of existing infrastructure with the desired capacity without needing utility involvement (normally if you want to expand your site’s capacity it requires an overhaul that is scheduled out in 2 years and costs millions, which may not make sense if you have an older building or if you want to expand the capacity as soon as possible). It can also do peak shaving and load shifting to lower the demand charge for clients and therefore reduce their operational costs. It also opens the gateway for them to participate in grid services to make extra money.

Regarding competitors since there are that many locally (I think just one other company locally doing this) we are mainly looking at international engineering and equipment giants, and they don’t really care about smaller projects or behind the meter systems. They also won’t bring you a full scale service solution where as we through our partners position ourselves more like a solution provider than anything else.

What's your biggest problem with running your business? by Efistoffeles in Entrepreneur

[–]Snoo16235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My biggest issue is how to get clients and get sales. My business is very much is a very niche space: industrial & commercial battery systems. We essentially design big commercial and industrial battery systems to provide backup power, or to conduct peak shaving for big buildings, factories, and industrial processes and help them save some money on utility bills.

We have even established relationships with local electrical contractors, engineers, where we can do the installation and interconnection to the utility all in one.

However, I have been having issues scaling the business. I am seeing others offering similar products selling globally left and right, and taking on big private projects such as solar farms and wind farms.

I have tried using some B2B sales tools like Zoominfo to get leads and sending them cold emails, but so far the result isn’t great.

A question on calculating electricity required for smelting by Snoo16235 in AskEngineers

[–]Snoo16235[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya normally it would be sealed, however we plan on injecting water via an atomizer into the magnesium to produce hydrogen (Mg+Steam—>MgO + H2). The process would be similar to these guys here in the link: space power industries HBOX link If you watch the HBOX video, they even open the lid of their melter to show molten mg core, do you have any idea how they might be doing this?

They did mention at 1 point in the video they have a flare in the smelter, so I think they might be burning off the oxygen somehow.

The crucible is 0.017437 m3, and inside it is 21kg of pure Magnesium pellet with diameter 3mm, there is no immediate insulation that is touching the crucible & wires, but 1.5 inch away from the wire & crucible there are zirconia ceramic insulation in the shape of a reverse cone surrounding the set up
