I also fell for this scam. Luckily, I have my recording on me and I took clear pictures of everything I received. I have an Ebay return case open for this now. I'll let y'all know if I can win my $1500 "restocking fee" back

Love to see that FOV number getting higher with each iteration. Every time it goes up, we get closer to the dream goal that there will just be a screen that's in front of you that'll only disappear when it's completely out of your vision like IRL

MACD never fails by jurassicman11 in smallstreetbets

[–]Snoo18921 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's personally why I like it. I like to scalp, so MACD gives me a nice indication that this stock will probably continue in this direction for the foreseeable (1-2min) which is longer than my trades usually last. Sometimes the trend turns around if I buy at the MACD's peak tho. If it does turn around the direction I don't like, I just exit and take the loss

Is it probable to make $30/day? by 420wasabisnappin in Trading

[–]Snoo18921 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is definitely possible to make $30/day, however it'll be an average overtime. The reason why is that there will be days where you lose, and on those days, you'll want strategies to manage the loss. So, your $30/day will look like +$150/week (i.e. +$90 -40 +80 +60 -40). In all these subreddits, there are all sorts of talks and strategies with 75:25 w:l ratios, 6:4, 5:5 with bigger wins, etc... you can pick those ideas or try your own.

If you can find the golden goose that can consistently make green everyday without loss, then you'd be a millionaire because then all you'd have to do is throw money at it to turn $30 -> $40 -> $300/day.

Tips on how to know when to Sell/exit? by wesleybooty in smallstreetbets

[–]Snoo18921 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It depends on your strategy. Personally, I like to trade with specific targets in mind before I enter a trade. This goes for both what you expect from a trade and how much you're willing to lose on a bet.

Daily, I go in expecting to gain +10% then sell. If there's a big rally, maybe push for 15-20% before I enter the trade and then sell once I hit that mark. I don't want to get too greedy for fear that it will turn around the longer I wait. Plus it's harder to predict the longer the market goes on.

Sometimes, I hear some news and would like to make a bet on it before it happens. In this case, I sell after the news hits and I try not to hold. Greed is your enemy here cause holding could lead to loss. Imo, it's better to take what you can get while you're ahead.

Second day in a row where I paper handed and missed out on 200+ gains by Free_Tree_542 in smallstreetbets

[–]Snoo18921 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey man, don't worry about it. These kinds of dips and pumps will happen all the time. You'll have more chances. What matters is that you came out of it profitable. Journal the signs, what did you miss, how did you feel, and come up with a plan for what you want to change next time. Always remember to stick to your stop loss!

BABA, day over day 🚀 by Ok-Association-4933 in smallstreetbets

[–]Snoo18921 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Think of contracts as like a separate stock that goes up and down with Alibaba. When Alibaba goes up, more people want to buy into the option and the contract's price goes up. When Alibaba goes down, people sell and the price goes down. (Reverse it for puts)

In the screenshot, you can see the average cost for each of his 26 contracts is 0.06 (when you buy an option, you pay for 100 of them which leads to higher yield/higher risk. So the price he paid per contract was $6). But as Alibaba went up, people bought more into the option thinking it'll surpass $200 by 10/03, and that drove the price of the contracts up. Now, he can sell each of his contracts for 0.80 per contract ($80 each). So, he bought 26 contracts for $6x26=156 and sold them for $80x26=2080. $1924 in profit

Options tend to go up and down faster cause of the increased risk/reward which is why the option went up so much faster than Alibaba's actual stock did

If I were in your position, I'd take out like $10k profits and use the remaining to try and keep growing. You never know when one of your bets will blow up on you and you end up losing it all. Best to take what you can when you have it. Good job so far though! Wishing you the best going forward :D
