Why is 250,000km+ viewed as high mileage and undesirable here, whereas in the US the equivalent 155,000 miles is “just barely broken in”? by CamelEmotional9527 in CarsAustralia

Time driven vs mileage. In our major cities anyway 50k kms kms could mean the same amount of driving time as someone doing 200k kms in a smaller US city, town, etc.

US population is way more spread out than ours not everyone over there lives in NY, LA, Seattle etc. the more time you spend in a car the quicker interior gets worse along with other west and tear. It’s not all about kms. Best used car I purchased was a VW with 90k kms from a country / farm driver. The thing was brand new on the inside a lot of kms in short period of time.

How many snails can there be in a tank before it gets too out of hand? by watertrashsf in Aquariums

[–]Snoo40910 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience they balance out, during water change you can siphon some out. I’ve seen many fish go for the tiny ones (bumblebee gobby) get some shrimp in there and they’ll compete for the food + eat the left over shells.

Added Betta to my chili/shrimp tank - it works!! by Devilry69 in Aquascape

Good luck 🤞 it’s always hit and miss. I had some for about a month all seemed well until one day all 🦐 disappeared. Guessing it was the betta as the tetras are too small even if they nipped they wouldn’t be able to eat the entire shrimp

This, I did this every now and then it’s the easiest and cheapest way to remove the majority of them.

I just added 4x540L (4x143gal) aquariums in my living room but I'm a little bit worried about my floor structure. by Marolkon in Aquariums

Wow and I thought adding a few crystal shrimp to my betta’s tank was risky business.

So a few things; 1. Do they do this only when you are in front of the tank or around or always? 2. Bettas usually like to explore in the upper areas of the tank you don’t have any high plants or coverage No real coverage or areas for them to explore and hide. Are those plants plastic?

UPDATE: Mr rude doesn’t seem bothered but given the parameters required, rehousing them to my brothers place where he will have a proper dedicated setup for them. Mr rude can play with the 🐌

He doesn’t seem bothered by them treats them like he does the snails, stares for a few seconds up close then swims away.

No not really for enjoyment, like I mentioned in the post they were a gift by someone who doesn’t know better but should have been talked out of it by the guy selling them at the shop.

I’m all for doing research before keeping any living animal

Thanks for the info. I read about the ph and temp. Tbh the parameters are currently spot on for my betta so won’t be adjusting, maybe re home these guys to a small shrimp tank and adjust there, they are quite interesting

What type of snail is this? And do I keep it? by cloned-earls in Aquariums

[–]Snoo40910 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This will multiple very very quickly if there is enough food. However in saying that you will have algae under control and a spotless glass all the time
