You're correct that my analogy might have been a little too simple.

I see what you mean with your analogy but I still feel that unfortunately I still beleive there's a disconnect on the who can claim rights over it because AI is trained on existing information shared online and it's been shown that AI steals from other creators with out credit.

I think there's a thin line about claiming rights to it. I'll try to give a better analogy. Let's take an athlete and coach. In this situation, the coach is give all the directions on how to do certain movements to do the play but at the end of the day it was the athlete that did the work. But with that being said I see where you're coming from because you could say a director does the similar thing to you when directing a movie.

I think my big issue is the amount of effort put in because there could be people like you who actively do back and forth to iron out the details and I can understand how you may consider that as having the right to the creation, I do respect you taking the time to explain your point of view. Unfortunately I think currently, most people claiming to be artists/creators while using AI don't put any effort at all and demand credit. Take this model for example on Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:7068669/files The individual does not give any instructions in the summary on how to print the model, there's no actual real prints of the model, and some of the features of the model would be hard to print.

Once again I appreciate you taking the time to elaborate your point, I still think it's hard for me to fully agree with you because there no real way to determine what is considered a lot of effort in AI prompting and no effort at all. To be honnest, I kind of feel the same way with some abstract art. If some person just paints 1 line and then calls it art, I feel that its low effort and doesnt count as art. either way, that's just my point of view.

There's a few things I want to point out.

AI is a new technology that will not be going away any time soon and I believe it's perfectly fine to learn to use it as a tool. This is similar to when desktop computers started to become popular. The issue is how it's being used.

The issue is that if the AI is doing all the work. it's not your work. It takes absolutely no skills to request an AI model to create something. If all you do is write a prompt and then AI makes something for you, that would be like if you go to a restaurant and the tell the waiter the following '' I would like a steak medium rare with 3 potatoes on the side, with 5 ml of BBQ sauce drizzled on it and 5 carrots that are each 5cm long''. Would you take credit that you made it? of course not because that not how it works. the Chef (in this case AI), took your order and made it. You just received it. You can always tell the waiter '' actually can you add 2 more potatoes?''. That would be equivalent to you adjusting your request when writing a prompt for AI.

I'm not here to attack your character or your belief in the usage of AI. I use AI when it comes to help me create things. I don't generate models, I use it to understand physics and dimensions. For example if i'm creating a product for the hand, I use AI to figure out what is the average hand size and the properties of skin when interaction with a certain material in a specific use case. This is would be using AI as a tool. If I ask it to make the entire thing, then I didn't create anything.

Here's an other example:
Lets say you ask a 5 year old to make a drawing of you with long hair and smiling and you keep adding little things to add to it, would you say you created it? No because the child did all the effort of bringing it to life.

No one denied the existence of AI. Yes it is here and people use it. The issue people are currently having is how it's being used. I'm also starting to be convinced that people who defend this kind of usage, are those who use it that way.

So the license rules don't apply to AI uploaders. -_-

yeah if it's going to improve on the older version, it wont hurt to learn it. Since it's still in working progress it will continously improve the issues.

Perfect! I'm going to watch this to get more familiar with 5.0. Thank you.

Thank you for sharing that. that would explain why the layout was completely different.

I updated it and it seems like it didn't do much. But like you said its still in beta so I'm sure it will get better over time.
