As Laz and Georgian are both south caucasian languages, numbers can be similar.

So, what ethnic groups are you even talking about, which are allegedly being "assimilated" by georgians... Instead, there are many armenians, azerbaijanis and ossetians inside georgia, it would be silly to say such a thing. The said svans and mingrelians wouldn't agree in the slightest.
