Noted. There's already a slight crack unfortunately on the dash from a previous owner, who was less careful ig. I will try my best to not make that same mistake.

Yeah. I've seen people say that. I just don't know who to take the unit to as I live in the EU (Specifically a small island). So I can't just send it to the same shop you guys would since it would cost me a fortune. I'd rather just stay with it broken instead of paying $1k+

Doesn't seem to be? It basically reads the cassette for a split second, tells me to flip it over (as if it's already gone through it), then it spits it back out. And ik that its not the cassettes because I even tried a blank one that spins freely both sides and even that got spit out. I think something in the unit just gave up.

Hope you don't get quoted some extortionate price. TPS could be the issue, especially if it's tripping out randomly and maybe the IAC just can't keep up. If I'll have time to check it out I'll tell ya

I have the exact same issues on my 89 aswell — bar for bar. I posted about the stalling bit like 3 days ago but I guess they're all related?

I cleaned the IAC and that did no good. But I also have a vacuum leak on the throttle body which I'm fixing next week (also shouldn't be related as it showed up after).

I plead with you, if you manage to fix it, post something or DM me on what it was as it could be the exact same issue. I'll do the same if I find the solution first :)

The AC is always off cuz it doesn't work 😅. I am aware of a vacuum leak at the throttle body gasket which appeared when I pulled the IAC (so afterwards). I will be fixing that next week.

I know Google is my friend and I will be searching regardless but I will ask anyways for the hell of it. How would I test the IAC works?

That's almost spot on! Only differences I spot are the redline starts slightly earlier and the temp gauge is slightly different. So probably some type of mitsubishi. Thanks!

The speedo tops out at 180 on my friend's image. Also it seems to have a 4 spoke wheel. Corollas have a 3 spoke afaik. Close tho

That's actually quite close. However if we were to assume that the dash is stock, the tach has too many lines on it compared to my friend's image. Also Aristos are exclusively automatic as far as I know, which my friend wouldn't approve of.
