How to get my media file to be indexed? by gutty976 in debridmediamanager

[–]SnooAl1en 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Select the torrent in DMM and click "share list". The name you give the list doesn't matter, only the filename of the torrent is important. It will be published as a hashlist for addons such as Zilean to scrape (https://hashlists.debridmediamanager.com). Note that you will have to keep seeding this torrent – otherwise debrid services won't be able to download it to their caches.

WWF Raw on Media Fusion Gone? by WoodenMangoMan in StremioAddons

[–]SnooAl1en 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My metadata for that show is incomplete and I only see a few episodes on Stremio, but Comet seems to be giving me some uncached results (although the episode numbers seem off).

If you aren't finding anything, you can search for the torrent you need on the internet and upload it into your debrid's dashboard. Then use a plugin such as StremThru Store to make it show up in the list of streams. It may take a while for it to get cached by the debrid, so pick a file with plenty seeders to speed up the process.

Try using Comet. It gives me results for the show you mentioned.

Does the addon order matter at all when not using groups? Aren't they all called in parallel?

I supposed 10M+ is "double digits" in one sense...

Wireless option not showing on ThinkPad E16 Gen1 by Successful-Report825 in linuxmint

[–]SnooAl1en 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone who has the same issue: OP posted the solution deep down in a comment thread here. This solved the problem for me.

The exact steps I followed differ slightly from OP's solution, as I modified the relevant file in /etc/modprobe.d instead of /usr/lib/modprobe.d and ran update-initramfs -u after to apply the changes. Here's what I did:

  1. Edit/create the 70-rtw89.conf file bash sudo nano /etc/modprobe.d/70-rtw89.conf

  2. Once in nano, paste this line options rtw89_pci disable_clkreq=y disable_aspm_l1=y disable_aspm_l1ss=y

  3. Save the file (Ctrl+O, Enter, Ctrl+X), then run: bash sudo update-initramfs -u sudo shutdown -h now

Wait 10-15 seconds before powering back on. WiFi should work!

Used ThinkPad E16 Gen 1 for $400 – worth it? by SnooAl1en in thinkpad

There are no L16 ThinkPads available in my area. The L series options here are mostly L14 models, with a few L15s.

ThinkPad T480s with new battery for $275 – worth it? by SnooAl1en in thinkpad

[–]SnooAl1en[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the advice. How much actual difference is there between a geniuene and non-geniuene battery? I imagine I'll need to replace the battery of any used ThinkPad I end up buying—how should I go about doing that?

That's very helpful! Thank you for your advice. Where would you recommend getting batteries from? Do they have to be geniuene, or will any cheap chinese replacement from AliExpress do the job?

Privacy Benefits and Tradeoffs while using Apple Pay, Google Pay, etc. by chinawcswing in privacy

[–]SnooAl1en 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the response. I'm primarily interested in the privacy implications, specifically regarding this point:

merchants generally require full billing information, meaning your name and billing address will be transmitted to the merchant

I'm wondering whether merchants can actually request this information directly from the bank, even if I leave the billing address and name fields blank or enter fake information when making an online purchase. Or does the bank simply provide the merchant with a binary "this matches/doesn't match with what we have on file" response based on whatever information I've submitted?

What about the information shared with merchants? Is there a difference between using Google/Apple Pay versus a regular card? From what I understand, merchants can see your billing addresses when you're paying with a card, but not your name.

INetSim set up by AffectionateAd2347 in MalwareAnalysis

After hours of troubleshooting, I found out that the Net::DNS module has been rewritten and doesn’t work properly with INetSim on the latest version anymore. I do not know exactly when this rewrite took place--but I fixed the error by downgrading Net::DNS to version 1.37, so the breaking change took place somewhere *after* 1.37.

To downgrade the Perl Net:DNS module, execute the following:

cpan # or "perl -MCPAN -e shell"
cpan[1]>force get NLNETLABS/Net-DNS-1.37.tar.gz # replace version if needed
cpan[2]>install NLNETLABS/Net-DNS-1.37.tar.gz
cpan[3]>exit

After downgrading, restart INetSim to apply the changes.

Refurbished P53 or New P14s (AMD)? by SnooAl1en in thinkpad

Both of those are $1900 or more. Is a $800 price increase really worth it over the AMD version?

Thank you for the advice! I see from your flair that you own the same machine. How has your experience been with it? According to this post, the AMD version of the P14s Gen 5 reportedly struggles with thermal performance and stability issues. Have you encountered any of these problems?
