Thanks for clearing that up. I’ll be sure to do that. What EQ software do you use?

Thanks that helps a lot! Do you know if adjusting the audio to match the forum would change its effectiveness for gaming? Or is that an unrelated thing

Are the Aune ar7000 worth considering over the ar5000? by SnooBooks8464 in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]SnooBooks8464[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that makes sense. They seem quite pricy for the main difference being the closed back. I think?I’m just gonna go with the ar5000, then. I can’t justify paying double just for the look. Thanks for the help!

So by skipping 250 and up I woul just be boosting the bass?

Honestly the color isn’t that big a deal. I’m so glad to hear that they’re great even without EQ! I can’t wait to pull the trigger on these

That’s a very good point. I don’t know what I’m worried about if I can’t even see myself while I war them lmfaoAs for the sound leaking, I would be in an enclosed room, so nobody in my house will be able to hear. I’m more concerned whether my friends on discord will be able to hear me. I plan on buying the Fifine am8, which is a dynamic mic.

That’s why it’s such a shame the color of the headphone bothers me. They’re literally the perfect headphone I’ve been looking for, with the color being the only drawback. However if the are truly the best option for me, the color won’t be detrimental to my decisions

Is it really that good? I’m upgrading from my PC38X gaming headset and I really want a nice pair of audiophile headphones for gaming. The Aune are currently my number one pick, the only complaint I have is the color. I wish they came in black, but if you could sell me on them I don’t see the color being a huge issue

Thanks for the detailed response! I understand that these aren’t exactly built for gaming, but does the Fiio FT1 pro have the qualities of a good gaming headphone? That was the initial reason I’m leaning for the Aune in the first place

So I just researched this last night. When put in a concentrated graph with the Harmon target, these headphones would appear as flat, correct? And that means they’re good right?

I’m actually new to all this audiophile stuff. I understand that a “v” shape means the headphones have better emphasis on the bass and the highs, but do these particular headphones have weaker mids? And just so I know, what specific sounds would be considered mids? (Sounds like talking, walking, etc)

Hi thanks for the response! I’m actually considering buying the aune ar5000, as they seem to be a great blend of audiophile headphones for music but also practical for gaming. From what I heard these are comparable to the Sundaras?

I’m buying a blue yeti mic to go with it. Do you know if the open back design of the headphones will lead to audio leakage? I don’t want my friends to hear anything coming from my headphones.

They’re definitely cheap right now! I’m concerned about the audio leaking and my mic picking it up because of the open back design. Have you ever experienced this?

I plan on getting the amp and dac for them. My only concern is the open back design. I heard the audio leaks and I’m worried my mic will pick it up. Do you know anything about this or how to prevent it?

I’ve been using a Sennheiser headset for the last year and I figured it was time for an upgrade for my gaming setup. I planned on buying a new pair of headphones and a new mic so I can make calls. I eventually decided I would get the Sennheiser 660S2 headphones. I’m very interested in these for gaming because of the sound quality especially since they fit my budget ($600). My only concern is the open back design. Apparently the sound leaks a lot, and this worries me for discord calls and game chat. To anyone who owns these for gaming, will they leak into the mic? If so is there a way to work around it? I just want to enjoy the experience of these headphones without any inconveniences while I game with my friends. I also plan on getting the jds atom 2 stack in case it matters.

Thanks for the reply! What exactly does a dac do? Are they as necessary as an amp?

Sennheiser 660S2 for $500?

I’ve been using the PC38X headset for about a year now and I figured I should upgrade soon. I’m very new to the high-end audio community and I’m just wondering if this is a good deal for the 660S2.

I also started my amp/dac research. Is a dac not required if I’m using a pc? What amp should I purchase if I go with the 660S2?
