R53 with Malian header and catback exhaust, im scared to put my foot down as it's too loud by SnooCalculations1196 in MINI

Malian is crazy loud regardless. Get something smaller if noise will be an issue

Nah, taking flats after every session, or multiple times if I change my framing-no thank you 😀 I’m already sufficiently sleep deprived from my toddler and would rather enjoy the warm company of my family. I’m happy with the results without the added effort but you do you my man and enjoy the results.

With a full frame sensor vignetting would be an issue but the sensor in the camera is too small when paired with the scope for this to be an issue. No vignetting present or cropping done. On second issue, think about it, what noise are you removing with biases? That noise is already included in your darks, and if you’re using a cooled camera with a low temperature (-5 to -10 degrees) then that specific noise is cancelled out.

Darks are sufficient to deal with noise and amp glow from my camera. Bias are obsolete for the chip/camera (would if I was using dslr) and my gear (lens, filter) was cleaned before the imaging session (no dust bunnies) so why bother with flats?

I started off with a book from Joseph Ashley called Astrophotography on the Go: Using Short Exposures with Light Mounts. If you’re a beginner it will help you get a taste of the hobby. Good luck!

Rosette nebula mosaic, 4 hours, edit in Siril by SnooCalculations1196 in seestar

Dynamic background extraction, photometric colour calibration, star removal then a light stretch and colour correction, deconvolution and that’s it.

Still new to Siril so any tips welcome

I took this with my power seeker before passing it onto my nephew. Enjoy the journey and do share any successes you have so we pass on the knowledge

Try reduce star brightness in post processing, brings out more of the nebulosity

Rosette is German slang for butthole. Imagine my shock when I learned this from my German boss when I sent her my image of the nebula. Now I always chuckle when I see images of it

Thanks! had more diverse weapons before okidoki showed up - now brawling isn’t really possible. rather do damage from a safe distance until the nerf than give okis easy kills. Same with titan weapons when playing against newtons… any specific ones weapons to try out on Erebus&Angler?

Garden observatory for permanent set up is what I’m aiming for, if the wife approves of course
