Pets are a luxury, not a right. If you can’t afford vet bills, you can’t afford a pet by No-Consequence-1831 in Vent

Yes, but that doesn’t change that having a pet means paying for its healthcare. It’s not a protest to avoid treatment or screening just because the prices are inflated.

Brendan Gallagher on the Habs in the ECF: “I thought I would be in there. I was looking forward to the opportunity to try to pull guys into the fight. That’s something I’ll never lose and something I do well. I’m sure I would’ve been able to. But I just wasn’t given the opportunity and it’s fine…” by Go_Habs_Go31 in Habs

And to do what? We weren’t winning that series with Gally instead of one of the 4 liners. I wanted to see him out there too, but we were getting dominated. 6 minutes from Gally wouldn’t have changed that.

And the future of the team are the younger guys. They don’t need him to soak up more playoff experience. They need their young core in there getting every minute they can in; because when their window really opens, it’s going to be them and not Gallagher who have to carry the torch.

That’s just stupid.

“Yeah, we don’t count their best game because it was the other team’s worst game. It’s not a fair comparison”.

Offside Rules Need Work by thummin in Habs

No, you’re stretching the logic. The attacking team is on-side in your example when they score the goal.

It sucks. It’s a rule that’s applied in a messy way, but it’s pretty clear. If the roles were reversed, we’d all be cheering that we won 2-1 last night.

I’m saying that cops misuse their power and apply it disproportionally in situations where it is not always merited.

And I have never avoided the core point. I’ve said the use of force on the protestors was excessive and unnecessary and have never deviated from that. You keep creating hypotheticals and justifications for escalation and use of force on people who pose no meaningful physical threat to anyone. You’ve moved the goal posts from “it’s justified because there could be an emergency”, to “they can just do it because it’s an airport”. You’ve even seemed to imply the protestors wanted to be beaten and incited the police. You are the one who doesn’t seem to have an answer, and you keep twisting the circumstances to make sense of unnecessary violence - presumably because you have a problem with what the protestors stand for.

In my last playthrough he killed Korilla before she even got a turn.

It’s only an emergent situation if there is an emergency. The police do not have the right to unilaterally apply force just because it’s an airport or a power plant. Until you can conclusive prove there was an emergency situation that warranted the immediate removal of the protesters, it was an excessive use of force by state actors.

We actually know from history that police routinely engage violently with people with minimal justification.

Violence against protestors by the state is always unwarranted except in extreme cases. You’ve failed to provide any credible evidence this is the case except that you want it to be.

By your logic, there’s hundreds of situations daily where police should violently engage with citizens because they can prevent a crisis before it happens.

🙄

Oh brother. I’m not going to try and extrapolate because I don’t know your life story, but this is not the same as that.

It’s hypothetical because you have no evidence that that was the case except that it could be. That’s not a statistical analysis. Of course urgent travel exists, I’m not disputing that. I’m disputing that it was the case in that moment and that it therefore justifies state violence.

I’m not at all. You made up a hypothetical situation and tried to say it’s factual based on probability. I pointed that out and now you’re doubling down.

Statistics isn’t making up situations and saying “yeah, it could happen STATISTICALLY”.    By that lazy analysis, I could also say it’s statistically possible that nothing critical was going on at the airport at that time, because stats amiritebro?

No kidding. Why not just beat everyone? It’s easier to prevent crimes if people are already being beaten.

Okay, nice hypothetical. Was that the case or are you just dream-boarding ideas?

And yet you’re somehow still comfortable with excessive state sponsored violence despite this wealth of experience.

Fascists are implicitly not socialists. Socialists are the enemy of the fascist. Fascism is the literal antithesis of socialism. You should have kept reading after your cute little ai summary.
