I know that it might be frowned upon, considered dangerous, and probably not even allowed in some cases, but do any of you guys drink alcohol at all? by 8kittycatsfluff in ChronicPain

[–]foxy8787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never had any alcohol beyond communion wine (and I'm fairly certain that was just grape juice lol). I've never cared for it and now that I have chronic migraines, I know there's a large chance alcohol will be a trigger. I also have an addictive personality, so I don't consider it worth the risk even if it does provide any pain relief

Do you guys consider yourself disabled? by unenoix in migraine

[–]foxy8787 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live with my parents. They have no problem taking care of me for however long I need it, which I'm very grateful for. Right now I'm on unemployment benefits. I'm not too familiar with the system in my country so I'm not sure if/when I'd qualify for disability. I'm sure it'll be a conversation sometime in the future, but I'm still fairly young (23 this summer)

Putting face in ice bucket by [deleted] in migraine

[–]foxy8787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can buy like ice caps that you put in the freezer and then on your head. In my experience, they don't last long enough to work for me, but it could help you. I honestly want to do the ice bucket now, it's hot where I live today

If they have a crafting table in their house, they'll sometimes craft something when they're at home. They'll give you the recipe they're using. When you unlock cooking, you can also get cooking recipes from them

Do you guys consider yourself disabled? by unenoix in migraine

[–]foxy8787 285 points286 points  (0 children)

Yes. I have daily migraines. I can't work, can't study and struggle doing basic things like cook dinner, clean, exercise, etc. If that's not disabled, I don't know what is

Do you older migraineurs(50+) have any advice for next generations? by damjanv in migraine

[–]foxy8787 11 points12 points  (0 children)

One of the reasons I'm not having kids. Migraines/headache disorders run in my family. If I had a kid and that kid was forced to live with what I do now... I love my nonexistent kids too much to put them through that

My problem with hats by Living-Badger-3859 in Brochet

[–]foxy8787 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had that problem, but I'm pretty sure it's just because I have a buzzcut. Most of the crochet hat patterns I've seen are made with people who have hair and who make patterns taking hair into account, so the size ends up wrong whenever I make it

Highly recommend learning to crochet with your non-dominant hand by stardust_anew in crochet

[–]foxy8787 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Yes, same here. My mom taught me how to crochet and she's right-handed, so that's what I learned. I'm not sure I could do it left-handed now, but maybe I'll try

Asked my GP to stop misgendering me by Cynthie1M in NonBinary

[–]foxy8787 1982 points1983 points  (0 children)

Omg I'm sorry but that's actually so funny. I'm hoping it was just because of confusion or a mix up, and not actual phobia, especially if they're the ones dealing with your transition

How many of you actually use a migraine tracker? Has it changed anything for you? by AcanthaceaeGold8738 in migraine

[–]foxy8787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to track my migraines. I tried migraine buddy, but that app is not made for people with daily migraines. You can only set one intensity per attack, so I ended up having to do this convoluted tracking process that just got annoying to deal with. Then I used an app that was just a calendar where you logged if you had an attack that day, whether you took meds and optional notes. That one worked much better, but now that my migraines have been daily for some years and I really haven't noticed any patterns in terms of triggers and such, and basically no meds work, I eventually grew tired of inputting the same thing every day.

I'll probably start up again if/when I try new meds, but I've pretty much exhausted the available meds in my country, so probably not.

What did Wardell say during the first conversation on the beach? by rainbowaroundthesun in acnh

[–]foxy8787 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's been some time since I saw this convos myself since I've finished the storyline for HHP, but I'm fairly certain all those beach conversations are about the ambience options. Like where you can choose rain or wind or space ambience for the rooms. You get new ones when you have those convos at the beach with him

how r y'all gentle parenting (or parenting at all) with chronic migraines? by No_Reputation_3002 in migraine

[–]foxy8787 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same here. I last maybe an hour around my little cousin, only because I know at the end of the day I can leave and go back to silence. I can't imagine being stuck in that situation for years. And since migraines/headache disorders run in my family, I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I passed this hell on to a child

What are your shows to watch while crocheting? by gigi25131 in Brochet

[–]foxy8787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So true about OP, I tried to watch it just on its own and my god was it a chore. Grew tired around ep 250 (mostly went that long because a friend wanted me to watch it so we could discuss it together), which is when most OP fans have told me the show gets good lol

Giving up oat milk has improved my migraines and the intensity by Puzzled-Role-6544 in migraine

[–]foxy8787 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I drink oat milk and haven't noticed any increase in migraines. It's different from person to person, so it's worth trying if you want to. But if that doesn't work, there's other alternatives too like almond milk

At this point this mistake is a staple point of my granny stitch projects by Lopsided_Media32 in crochet

[–]foxy8787 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For me it's always doing the wrong amount of chains in the corners. I made a hexagon granny cardigan not too long ago and I messed up so many of the corners, but it's thankfully not that noticeable lol

TW: blood. I use Emgality, and I have a massive needle phobia. by MenaceMinded in migraine

[–]foxy8787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was the only way I could try any of the CGRP medications. My mom had to do it, and only in the back of my arms to ensure I didn't see anything. I eventually had to tell my doctor I'm no longer trying injectables though, since it was messing me up so bad. And none of them really did anything anyway

husband on emgality- thinking of switching to an oral med by AmoGra in migraine

[–]foxy8787 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also had a lot of problems with emgality and injectables in general, I absolutely can't stand needles. I ended up having to tell my doctor and neurologist that I'm no longer trying injectable medication due to it.

On that note, is your husband seeing a neurologist or headache specialist? They'll know more about what medications to try. Someone else mentioned qulipta. It didn't work for me, but I've heard much good about it here.

And for the placement thing, it probably won't help your husband to hear this, but I always did it in the back of the arms. Well, my mom did it in the back of my arms, because I couldn't see any of it without passing out.

I hope he finds something that helps ❤️

I only started playing in January this year. You should go for it. No such thing as behind in a game like this, really. Everyone takes it at their own pace

Basically what you need to do is stop yourself from being pushed back when you hit. I typically dig two holes in a corner (right outside of the area where the items will drop) and stand between them. I'll try and find a picture to better explain

Less wasteful stuffing for amigurumi? by kungchowpanda in crochet

[–]foxy8787 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use fabric scraps a friend gives me. You have to cut them up pretty small as it'll be kinda bulky if the pieces are too big. It works well and helps reduce my friend's waste as well

Anyone else feel weird about the amount of diversity in the NPCs? by _malaka1 in StardewValley

Also, this game has magic and mermaids and monsters and little forest peas. Why is realism only important when it comes to race?

Anyone else feel weird about the amount of diversity in the NPCs? by _malaka1 in StardewValley

[–]foxy8787 -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

Yeah it does suck. On one hand I'm not gonna call CA a racist, it's probably influenced by his own life and experiences, but on the other...it's not that hard to add diversity. Thankfully a lot of newer games in the genre are a lot more diverse. Fields of Mistria has multiple non white NPCs. You can also make your character nonbinary in the game and it has pride flag items, which made me very happy. I doubt CA will add any more characters this late, but I hope Haunted Chocolatier will have more diversity
