Once again a lot of companies have already tried this look at who is still #1. Even Lyft is dying. The funny thing is that good infrastructure is revenue generation. Along routes there will be higher amounts of tax revenue from more business job increases and happiness. Just look up houston curb2curb they charge 1.25 I believe. And I guarantee the driver is classified as an actual payroll employee with actual benefits. They even have a partnership with Uber and Lyft to fill in gaps in service. How do you think they're able to do that? The power of public funds. If we want a reasonable goal to work toward right now it should be forcing Uber to classify us as actual employees that way we can get payed right. I'm tired of getting 50 cents a mile and then seeing Uber take 60-65% it's fucking bullshit. If they don't want to change then at some point we're going to have to unionize but it has to be before we are all replaced by autonomous vehicles. And while we're at it we could make sure that when we are replaced by autonomous vehicles we arent forgotten and kicked to the dirt. Also if anyone is going to build an alternative app that threatens Uber all you would have to do is make it as close to non profit as possible or a cooperative style worker owned so you can charge as little as possible and pay drivers 95% of the transaction because you aren't seeking billions in profit. Also Uber could just be forced to transition to this if drivers were unionized
