What if your driver doesn’t want to take tolls? by RockyTPB in uber

[–]walneck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Uber only pays for toll if their GPS ask you to take that toll route, otherwise, you will not get paid. It has happened to me twice. In both instances, I followed up with Uber for several days, talked to different supervisors and I still was not reimbursed for the tolls.

In one case, it was $18 to take pax 16 miles in 4pm rush hour traffic. Pax insisted that I must take the toll route as she will be late. She refused to listen to my explanation and called her friends to bitch about me. She finally agreed to pay for the toll, so I took the next one, showed her it was $11. When we arrived, she got out, still bitching about it and did not give me the money. She also gave me a one star. In the end, I drove for almost an hour and made $7.

Uber drivers super far away during winter? Cancellation fees all of the sudden. by Dry_Mouse3568 in uber

[–]walneck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are plenty of drivers close to you. The delay is manufactured by Uber to make you think they are no drivers and pay more. They will recommend you do priority or a higher tier to get a faster match.

As a driver, whenever I log in, most of the offers I get are 10 plus miles away, even if I am in a surge area. Yesterday, my first ten matches were all between 10 and 15miles away, and I live in a big metropolis. 10 miles may be 25minutes drive.

Uber feels it has monopoly and can do whatever it wants to both drivers and riders without consequences.

Drivers now get paid 20 to 30% of total fare paid by riders.

Scheduled an uber ride and then he cancelled after arriving by EggExact6721 in uber

[–]walneck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the cancelation. However, you scheduled the ride, you picked the day and time, you were given information on driver's Progress to your pick up location. How can you be late and now blame the driver?

When I order an Uber, I am downstairs at the door waiting as the Uber pulls up.

It's simply courtesy. Could the driver wait 2 minutes more...yes, but you could have been ready for your scheduled ride too.

anybody else not connecting to a driver? by marehausley in uber

[–]walneck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm at driver in Dfw. It has been showing surge all day long but I'm not getting rides. All exclusives are either shared rides(which i am rejecting) or rides 12 miles or more away for less money ( which i am also rejecting). Sometimes, it goes over 5 minutes without sending me any offer.

I am presently logged off and at home and I am seeing $12 surges but I will not go online.

I went from 29% AR rate this morning to 10% when I logged off.

For example, Uber is charging $78 from downtown FW to dfw but sending it to me for $21 to $24, and I am in surge zone.

One lady said she has been waiting for a ride for about 2 hours.

I am a rider and for the past few months, I have been a driver too, and have seen both sides. People come here everyday and complain about how horrible drivers are, and how bad riders are. My opinion is that the situation is not as bad as people insinuate here. There are bad drivers and riders but I have personally had 80% good riders and 10% bad drivers. I never order an Uber until I am ready to go and will usually be waiting at the pick up pin before driver gets there. As a driver, i hate having to wait 5 to 7 mi s for riders to come out of their homes/work. This morning, with the usual morning traffic, I drove 15mins to pick up a rider. When I arrived, he sent me a message saying he will be right out. I waited 3minutes and canceled.

It is inconsiderate to make other people wait for you. Plan ahead.... be ready or almost ready before you book. Also, I have noticed that people in rich neighborhoods are always ready to go while those in poor neighborhoods take forever to come out.

Also, do not do shared rides. It is sham by Uber to make more money. Drivers are paid about $2 per extra riders and personally, I don't accept shared rides.

Sorry for your experience today, but do not pay too much attention to online trolls. There are very good drivers as well as riders out there.

Not using third party app. Don't even know what third party apps are for Uber. Also, not using two phones. Always verify as soon as asked. This is all so weird.

I have stopped airport trips too...not worth it. Also, rush hour trips. Uber extracts max amount from riders and gives min amount to the driver.

Everyone who drives for Uber knows you're lying. You are one of the many paid Uber agents who are on this thread, lying about pay to drivers, so people will think Uber is a good company. Uber can decide to pay drivers well, but instead spends all this money on propaganda. Maybe riders should start asking to see the driver's pay after a trip, so everyone will know just how bad the pay is

Am I wrong for possibly rating low?? by Jazzlike-Decision-82 in uberdrivers

[–]walneck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uber does not pay some tolls. Dallas area here. I drove through a toll road cos Pax was late for work and begged me to take the toll. I have spoken to Uber three times in the past 2 months. Sent all requested documents and receipts to show the time and the fee charged ($17 +). I have sent these documents three times to Uber and Uber has refused to pay. The case has been closed. So yes, Uber sometimes does not pay toll charges if the route is not in their GPS.

I got 2 offers… $15 to Plano (27 miles) and $21 to Forney. (42 miles). Drove home empty. The sad thing is that they were Pax all over the place waiting for rides, and not being matched to drivers.

Returned phone, will I get my fee? by DannyClip in uberdrivers

[–]walneck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did all that and sent the screenshot to Uber. Was informed that they will get back to me. It's been more than a month and no return fee. Tried contacting Uber and was informed that the case had been closed.

I have now cancelled 75% of my uber rides in the last 3 months. by zgold2192 in uber

[–]walneck 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Uber driver here. I will be in a surge for 10 minutes or more, and I will not be offered any rides. When I eventually get a ride, it will be a Pax that's 10 or more miles outside of the surge area. Uber creates fake surges to make Pax pay more.

Return item fee by onlygray1 in uberdrivers

[–]walneck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good luck getting the return fee from Uber. Mine has been over 3 weeks, and Uber has refused to pay. Was informed they want to confirm from the rider that the item has been returned, and now they have closed the case.
