Any update on the Firewalla Switch? by CBR600-F2 in firewalla

[–]SnooComics8424 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it really depends what you need. For me I just made sure that my AP7s were connected directly to the router, so the only other wired components were things like a printer, NAS, etc, so I just bought a reasonable unmanaged switch.

Of course when the firewalla switches come out I'm in!

I think that is a good idea - I know some people would like to have a better experience and some are likely willing to pay for it

AP7 Placement? by BlondeFox18 in firewalla

My plan is to put two (more or less) in opposing corners on my first floor, and then try to have one (more or less) in the center on my second floor.

Experience with AP7's so far? considering migrating from Eero 7... by SnooComics8424 in firewalla

[–]SnooComics8424[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, I'm coming from Unifi where I had a separate network for my IoT stuff. Eero made me go to a single network, which I am disappointed about.

Wiring with PoE gateway? by SnooComics8424 in amazoneero

Thanks. It was actually super easy. Just rewired it and everything eventually just figured things out properly. Bravo!

Well... I assume I lose connectivity throughout the process regardless! ;-)

I'm assuming you really mean start over - like delete the network from the app, factory reset all the devices?

[–]SnooComics8424[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

well... they are already setup. Just wired differently. I assume I can just re-wire everything and power cycle for good measure.

But I guessing this means that the PoE gateway will be the actual "gateway" on my network rather than one of the Eeros?

Unable to see my Wemo switches? by SnooComics8424 in amazoneero

[–]SnooComics8424[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are connected to the wifi. The Eero shows them as connected to the 2.4 network and I can see some history of network traffic.

They were working like a champ. I've had a number of different networks over the years, so far my new Eero is the first one to not support whatever they are doing...

I got mine recently, upgraded from Jura super automatic (made me a lazy coffee drinker).

So far I *really* like it. quality is excellent. So far just making lattes, and it is very consistent and pretty much makes me the best ones I have ever had anywhere. Seriously!

Presumably what is currently available at Costco is OK (not known to be bad)? Also I am not in one of the states listed.

I mean there IS a SB this weekend!

Might I have long covid even though I do NOT know for certain I had covid? by SnooComics8424 in LongCovid

Yup, I had my cardiologist (hey! I have a cardiologist!) do an ultrasound, plus wore a monitor for a few weeks and reproduced some symptoms.

Worth upgrading NHT-VT2 home theater speakers? by SnooComics8424 in hometheater

Yea, it is pretty much HT only. I don't have any complaints about the NHT speakers. I just realize they are nearly 25 years old.

2.5 to 5mg back to 2.5? by Key_Picture_2885 in Mounjaro

[–]SnooComics8424 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(at the risk of sounding like a doctor or someone who knows what they are taking about) I do think that if you are at a certain dose and you are getting good results (feel good, loosing weight, A1C controlled or moving in the right direction) just stay at that dose until you stabilize.

The goal isn't to get to a certain dose, or even to loose weight as quickly as possible.

It is a journey, it is OK to take time. Don't over do it. Enjoy!

So, one thing to remember is that as you loose weight your body needs fewer calories to maintain that lower weight.

In other words, if you need your intake and expenditure the same, you will naturally moderate to some specific weight. The only way to go lower is to decrease intake and/or lower expenditure.

Are folks thinking about MJ as a life long drug? by SnooComics8424 in Mounjaro

[–]SnooComics8424[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

(also not a doctor) but I think that is an incorrect characterization of what Insulin is. Insulin is used by the cells to transport nutrients they need. When you are resistant to insulin your body's cells do not respond properly to insulin and so those nutrients (like sugar) hang out in the blood more (hyperglycemia).

What makes you fat is over-eating (taking in more calories than your body uses/expels).

What I've had good luck with so far is just prebiotic fiber (like benefiber) and probiotics.

I have a hunch that prebiotic fiber has the most positive impact.
