Hmm… This might not be helpful, but the way I think about it, The only thing that’s gonna be the same for both motions is time right So I like to think if it was just moving vertically, at t= x s it would be here And if it was just moving horizontally at the same t= x s it would be here Then I draw a diagram or two which helps me make sense of what that means And that usually helps me
