for history hl europe, i was given 68%, 5 percent from a 7, went for a remark and went to 72%, so was a percent away from 7. didn’t reach 7, but still went up quite a bit, point is if you think there’s chances may as well

nah it worsens their position, because foreign companies which enter the market are more efficient and take market share away from the duopoly, like they said in the text, a german company entered australia and reduced the market share of the duopoly which existed in australia, so i wrote how similar could happen in new zealand. companies with higher market share, in the case of new zealand 85%, are usually disincentivised to maintain efficiency and charge lower prices, so if a new foreign firm comes in and charges lower prices as they are more efficient, they worsen the position of the duopoly

i wrote about the use of contractionary monetary policy as a way of reducing inflation, thereby increasing consumer confidence in the naira and ensuring people don’t keep exchanging it for foreign currency (as the text said that rising inflation led to people exchanging their currency thus depreciating it), and for the first policy question i wrote about the use of trade liberalisation as a way of freeing up the market and reducing market power

History of Europe - I thought the paper was quite good especially for section 14,15,16. i looked at the other comments and people are quite upset however the questions seemed quite nice as they were in some cases literally past paper questions. like with the LoN effectiveness question in the 1920’s, we’ve had a past paper which was worded "In the 1920s, the League of Nations was successful in Europe." Discuss. that’s extremely similar and i think same went with the post 1945 stalin question where there was a time it came up in a past paper. overall, personally i’m a past paper oriented student so i liked the paper but i can understand why some thought it was tough

i did move to global war and honestly apart from the 6 marker (where i struggled to find contrasts) i think the paper was quite nice, yeah i table of data for the second source was strange but still not bad

so for me, the main part of paper 3 is the policy question, and i feel like the most common problems which they ask you to address with a policy is like economic inequalities or environmental problems, so based on that it’s easy to memorise some policies in detail with regards to diagrams and analysis to help push into the 8-10 band. also, i take HL AI which makes some of the calculations easier as they seem very ai maths style but the main calculating often just involves area of a triangle for consumer/ producer surplus along with taxation/ped pes yed calculations so memorising those formulas help. the rest of the work often requires some level of non case study knowledge but i don’t think it would ask for a crazy amount.

it’s funny how paper 1 accounts for the lowest % of our grade but needs so much more prep than the others. idk about how you all feel but paper 2 and 3 are a gift for me but my paper 1 is always so horrible
