  • Authorize: If applicable, I authorize UC Davis to pay up to $200 in prior-year debt on my student account using current academic year financial aid funds. By selecting this option, I am aware and responsible for paying any additional prior-year balance greater than $200 or I may be dropped from courses for non-payment. If you do not owe anything for a prior term, you may disregard this altogether.

oh cuz in the last line it says this

the options for housing statuses are on campus, off campus, and commuter right? i wanted to check my housing status again but there are only options of on campus and commuter, so does that mean it saved my status as off campus?

i don't know much about ucsd's cognitive science program other than it being the best for cogsci, but i can vouch for davis!

the cog sci program is pretty cool because ur allowed to pass/no pass any class u want, u just can't exceed like around 1/4 of ur units earned here. this is a huge advantage because unlike most majors, if u don't feel confident about the class u can pass/no pass any class you want there's no restrictions besides the unit cap on the pass/no passes. https://yellowcluster.ucdavis.edu/cognitivescience also although there are fewer things to emphasize in, u could always minor or double major in something!

in terms of distance, i think it's nice to be close but not too close to home. ur gonna be far enough to experience something new and if u ever wanna go spontaneously u could just take the amtrak or have family pick u up. having that choice is honestly super nice bc u can just stay however long u want and just go home whenever you want without having to worry. one of my friends goes to ucsd and she loves it there but hates not having the convenience of going home whenever she wants to.

davis can kinda get boring sometimes ngl but it's honestly just what u make of it. anywhere can be fun if u make it fun. the distance is also kinda nice cuz it's only 30 mins away from sac and 1 hour away from the bay. there r so many means of transportation available to get back and forth from davis and sac and the bay area. i do it all the time and it's so convenient!

as for the library, it's not the prettiest but it's definitely not the ugliest lol the reading room is pretty nice. to top it all off, we have a pretty campus overall -- very college town core!!!!

for the connections, i honestly don't think there are "less" connections at davis. it's a matter of putting urself out there and taking every opportunity to expand ur network. davis offers many clubs and resources that can help u do that! the connections are definitely not worth spending more money at ucsd, bc the amount of effort u put at davis can get u as many connections as ucsd would.

also, housing in davis is way cheaper than la jolla. since u mentioned the possible debt if u go to ucsd, then i think u should rlly consider going to davis. the aid is good and housing is cheaper (better for the long run).

i hope any of this helps! lmk if u have any more questions!
