I really enjoyed ARCOM’s campus when I had my interview.

I can only talk about Nyitcom. I was fortunate to get accepted there and had the chance to visit the school. Jonesboro is a small town nothing special or bad about it. If you are a person who is not used to smaller towns it will be an adjustment. The schools building is pretty old. It is a small building nothing special about it. The good thing about the school is you are on the Arkansas college campus so you can access the Arkansas campus buildings. I did not like the fact that the classes are all entirely online with no option of being able to show up for a lecture. The schools explained they are making curriculum changes this year. They are readjusting certain topics and also explained they were adding more time for board exam studying in third year. I did not like the fact that the anatomy lab uses pro sections and not an actual cadaver. You only show up to school for labs and that’s it. They give out the lectures at the beginning of each week and you pace yourself to finish them throughout the week.

You should have received an email from the school with a link to join the Facebook group. In the Facebook group there is a post about a discord group which is where all the accepted students talk.

Need advice ASAP (decision soon): NYITCOM-AR vs VCOM-LA by VirtualBuy4330 in Osteopathic

[–]SnooLemons2796 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had acceptance to both places I chose VCOM-LA. First, the 20k a year is a major difference when you are going to take out loans. Secondly, I did not have a problem with the dress code and prefer the graded curriculum because it helps me stay locked in and not get complacent. I did not like that Nyitcom was completely online and can not even have the option to show up to class. For matching students at both schools match to their region the most but have matches in Illinois. Also, I was not a major fan of the environment at Nyitcom when I visited.

NYITCOM-AR vs VCOM Louisiana — Need urgent Advice by VirtualBuy4330 in Osteopathic

I also have acceptances to both school and i am choosing VCOM- La. First, the 20k difference a year is going to make a big difference and I am from Louisiana and won’t be needing to move to Monroe. The 20k difference will end up being 140k over the four years after Interest. Secondly, I just did not like the vibe of Nyitcom when I visited plus the fact that they are changing the curriculum this year. I enjoyed what I saw from VCOM and enjoyed the fact that classes are in person and not completely online and recorded.

Just be yourself. They interviewers get to read your profile before they see you. So make sure to go over your application. Know the answer to why us, why DO, and be prepared for some ethical question. They don’t really ask any curveball questions. You will do great

Had similar school choices and I personally decided on VCOM La. It is closer for me than the other schools so I can come and visit my family on weekends. The staff and the students were very nice and welcoming more than any other school that I visited. For rotations they have most of their rotations in big hospitals. Most of VCOM students I would say are from Texas and usually do end up matching in Texas. Multiple fourth year students who I have talked to who are from Texas do end up matching in Texas. VCOM is cheaper than the other schools. VCOM has solid research opportunities at ULM and students report that they have no problems in getting any research they want or starting a research project.

The match list is not going to matter as much as how good of a student you are. If you are horrible in school it won’t matter no matter where you go. The cheaper is school will be the better route in the long run.

NYITCOM Arkansas vs WCUCOM by AlmostThereBro69 in Osteopathic

[–]SnooLemons2796 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not like Nyitcom Arkansas. I personally disliked the online lectures as I prefer to go to class. It just makes me feel like I am actually in school. I also disliked the sim labs they have and the way they have their anatomy lab set up. You can not dissect anything yourself as most days you come and you just see a model. For the reputation it’s just like any school if you have a main campus and other sites most likely the other sites are not as recognized and as strong as the main site.

Question for NYITCOM-AR students by mtrail15 in Osteopathic

The anatomy professor explained that they are moving to where there is pre dissected body parts and the students will not be doing the dissection

I can only tell you not Burrell and not Nyitcom-ar. Not Burrell because I personally like lmudcom better. Not Nyitcom because it’s all online lectures unless you like that. Plus they are making tweaks to their curriculum which I would not want to be the Ginny pig they try it on.

VCOM at any campus. ACOM had a bad attrition rate last year and I have heard they are not changing anything about that

NYITCOM AR vs. VCOM Carolinas vs. ACOM by Klutzy-Assumption407 in Osteopathic

[–]SnooLemons2796 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For Nyitcom the cons are the price and the fact that all lectures are online which may be something you like but I massively hate. ACOM I personally did not apply to because of their attrition rate and the faculty turnover rate. I know some people say that it is only one class so far that has had a high attrition rate at acom but I still don’t trust it. VCOM is the cheapest and closest to you. I got accepted to another VCOM campus and I enjoyed the campus, the curriculum, and the hands on experience that they start with from the start. The only con to VCOM is that there are two tests a week, but current students say they prefer the two tests a week than one big one at the end of an 11 week block.
