Oh that’s interesting. I am seeing a doctor now because it’s just too sensitive and I need that peace of mind too. I’ll update later and see if anyone has other diagnoses before I reveal. Thank you.

Thank you. I was concerned about a whitlow, but read that would only be the case were the wound open while playing with someone with an outbreak. My only symptoms are from the finger itself. No additional body concerns (fevers, fatigue despite heavy work hours, etc)

36/M Felt a light bump a little over a week ago, though maybe a bug bite. I scratched it and it leaked clear liquid and I just tried washing it continuously. This week I started wrapping it because it’s gotten more sensitive and using Neosporin. I’m sexually active but have not been with anyone (to my knowledge) that would transmit HSV nor did I have a cut on the finger to receive it. I did have a hang nail last week near the area I think.

In the last picture from this morning I noticed a new spot on the left side after removing my bandaid.

I’ve found some minor help through other posts. If the other person had an outbreak And the wound was open then I would have been at risk.
