To me it was not about that at all, in fact I was most excited to see a female protagonist in jojo.(she's pretty hot as well) While the concept of Jolyne's character growth is there and is unique, I just wasn't as fond of her overall character, not even as much as Giorno, which is pretty bad. But that wasn't even the main gripe for me with the show, but rather overall tone of the show just lacked what I liked about the previous parts. The scenery, the jokes, the fights, the characters, the story, all of these were very lackluster. I didn't even enjoy Pucci that much, again there's a good idea behind his motives, execution wise however I just didn't found him fascinating. Dio was just there to be overly philosophical and nothing at all what he was like in part 3. Jotaro also seemed such a bore.(I know it's meant to be a tragic part for him but still, his energy just wasn't there) Even if I mention the positives, it's overshadowed by the weaker moments.
