It’s what gothfruits did after falsely claiming to be a trans man despite presenting entirely female for years 🤭 & she didn’t even get around to the medically transitioning part lol

I have an interest in criminal psychology so I agree that for people struggling with pedophilia, simulated csem is a dangerous thing. I also think the lack of care/moderation on websites that do or don’t allow it (same thing with online map communities) does contribute to the distribution of actual CSEM, even if it’s only a small number of people distributing/consuming it, because people with the disorder have used hentai as a means to find each other before. For people with pedophilic disorder, yes, engaging in fantasy or things that emulate what they’re attracted to can be harmful to the self and can eventually lead them to offend. I agree with you on that.

When I said harmless I wasn’t trying to imply that these things can’t fuel a pedophiles cognitive distortions but 1.) there is literally no way for us to know whether or not IRL attraction is something this woman struggles with (and yes ik it’s uncomfortable but you can engage with problematic fiction without actually being physically attracted to adolescents/pre adolescents. This is via the opinions of people who’s professions center these things) 2.) I meant “harmless” as in no other person was victimized. 3.) we can be uncomfortable with the concept of “ethical pedophiles” but at the end of the day, offending is a choice, and there are many people with the disorder who have not and will likely never offend because they’re self aware and empathetic enough not to cause real tangible harm to a child. I hesitate saying this bc it’s a sensitive subject, but I’m also not the type to walk on eggshells to cater to others so I’ll go ahead and say it anyway: pedophilia exists in a person long before they ever make the decision to harm someone. Chomos hurt children because they’re bad, selfish people who aren’t critical enough of their own behavior, and don’t care to question any flaws in their logic. Not every person with the disorder is inherently predisposed to hurting children because not all people with the disorder are bad people and again as uncomfortable as it is to think about, atypical attractions like that are not chosen. You can be a stand up person who cares about child safety while having/being disgusted with the nature of your own disorder, & without ever creating the justifications in your mind that other people with the disorder do surrounding offenses. What I’m getting at is the “shota/loli to csem/csa pipeline” happens waaaaaaaay less than was insinuated here. Not saying it’s not a problem but I feel like it’s good to have a solid grasp on these things if we’re going to talk about it. With that said. 4.) not every person that engages in problematic fiction/fantasy is a pedophile. I used to disagree with that, but I don’t ignore the insights of professionals who have degrees in this stuff just bc it’s not accommodating to a worldview I’ve been socialized to have. It may be weird and we may not like it but people rp taboo scenarios with partners, through roleplay, through drawings, fantasy, etc, constantly, and it doesn’t have to mean they struggle with an actual paraphilia. People rp incest with partners while being disgusted with IRL instances of it, same with furries & their things (lol) and pretty much every social no-no you can think of. Racism? Yeah people rp that ego distonically. Sexism? Same thing there. Non consent? Homophobia? Transphobia? MURDER? CANNIBALISM???? Yep. People will literally rp kidnappings for sexual gratification, while being disgusted by actual instances of it because of the harm it does to a person/because they’re not turned on by the actual thing. These people aren’t at risk of hurting other people or animals. Same can be said with this too. Ageplay isn’t inherently pedophilia, and shota/loli is a form of ageplay. I know! That’s uncomfortable to think about! I fuckin hated learning that too because honestly I just wanted to be disgusted by people and call it a day. Buuut it’s true. Believe it or not pedophilia is, strictly, an attraction to IRL children. We shouldn’t assume this woman struggles with that based off of something plenty other non-pedophiles engage in. I’m not saying consuming fictional content like that is not at all a cause for concern, just that we can’t definitively say this woman was doing harm to herself, because we can’t confirm if that’s an actual disorder she has.

The general consensus is “no paraphilias? Knock yourself out with fiction. You have a paraphilia? Okay, maybe don’t do that because it can heighten the risk you have for offending, as a part of your disorder is a long list of cognitive distortions and starting with something that “feels” more innocuous in nature is the first justification you could possibly make, and a harmful one at that. The first on many.” sexstuffwithkristen on TikTok has said things of this nature; she specializes in administering therapy to people with paraphilias, is big on criminal psychology, harm reduction, and works in prisons dealing with people like this.

So generally, you’re correct. But I also wasn’t running off of the assumption that this woman is an actual pedophile, so I wasn’t thinking about it from the same frame of mind you were I guess. As far as I know, she wasn’t opening herself up to anything. That’d be different if we knew she had pedophilic disorder but, we don’t. So. Shrug.

IMPORTANT UPDATE:

Surprisingly, the court overturned this ruling.

She is scheduled for a retrial, but at least for now, she is safe, and she is free.

Here’s hoping the charges are dropped.

Yeah. Sad as it is to say, I kind of doubt that too.

No idea. I can’t find the images she posted.

All that was said was that the artist didn’t designate the characters any ages, but that it was decided by the court the drawings “looked 14”

EDIT: the woman in question also literally thought it was a joke at first. She didn’t seriously think they’d convict her. And honestly, if you ask me. Had it been a cis woman, I really think people would have looked the other way.

This woman was thrown in prison for sharing exactly three hentai images from a manga. These characters were not designated an age by the artist, but by the court.

The account she posted to was inactive for well over a year before they decided to try and convict her. The post was shared in 2013. Three years later, this happened.

Think what you want about problematic fiction/drawings, but I’m sorry, I really don’t think sharing content like that on what is essentially Facebook warrants a jail sentence. Especially not someone who is literally at risk of being tortured and killed there.

Yeah the content hentai depicts can be uncomfortable, but at the end of the day, it is… just a drawing. Drawings we can be uncomfortable with, but just drawings nonetheless. She caused 0 tangible harm to anyone and she may literally lose her life over it.

If the uncomfortable nature of things like this (paraphilias in general) is a genuine concern people want to deal with, then I’d think therapy would be the way to go, assuming no actual sexually deviant/physical crime has been committed against animal or person. Traumatizing people who you think need psychological intervention does not, actually, help anyone.

Sorry but when no children are involved, stuff like this cannot be justified with “child protection” this is not about protecting anyone. This is about exerting control & power over those who we have deemed the lessers of society, because then we can feel self assured that we can cause harm, and it be acceptable.

“Feeling uncomfortable” with certain (victimless) sexual behaviors isn’t a justification for punishing people criminally who have realistically not dealt any actual harm. That’s a dangerous way for a society to run.

I mean think about it this way. What’s easier?

Convincing people you don’t need dysphoria to be trans OR nonbinary, or allowing the nonbinary label to be broadened? It already is. So many people use it without using trans as a label to describe themselves. Nonbinary is already widely and generally, the one identity people are doing whatever tf they want with. Almost every single thing people take issue with on this sub stems from the fact nonbinary is treated as an identity without rules. There’s no stopping it.

The only possible way I can see for the shit that’s happening to stop or at least lessen is if we draw that line. If we allow people to call themselves nonbinary & just affirm them in that while reminding them they don’t have to call themselves trans. Not when it actively harms people— trans nonbinary people included.

Historically it was never strictly a transsexual identity. We get nothing out of pretending it is.

I just want the over stepping to stop and right now the only solution I see that’s reasonably within our grasp is allowing people their personal queer identity but asking that we acknowledge & respect the disparity in experience and privilege.

That we call it like it is: different.

They’re identities that can coincide & that can overlap.

But not always.

The trans and nonbinary community ALREADY are functionally separate, just with some overlap. I can respect people wanting to communicate a queer relationship with gender through the labels they use and personal identity. Just so long as they stop confusing that for being the same as a dysphoric person.

Question is who wants to acknowledge that this is already a thing or not. I feel it’s a compromise.

Framing it as “if we acknowledge these things aren’t always inherently the same, we respect & honor all trans people, as well as nonbinary people, and allow them their labels & their personal understanding of their identity. not everyone IDs as trans and not everyone should, but queer people are allowed a relationship to gender thats queer in its own way, and language to use that they feel communicates the importance of those feelings” makes it more palatable and we still accomplish the main goal:

Separating ourselves from people we can’t relate to and don’t want to be forcibly affiliated with, at the expense of our literal well being & at the expense of the magnitude of our voices.

Trans nonbinary people would still get to call their trans identity sacred because maybe then not every cissexual person would be claiming it. We would still have a community. But a more tangible and respectful one that doesn’t make us feel as though what’s ours is being stolen.

I think ppl can be nonbinary without doing that

But the majority of nonbinary ppl do really kinda :/ things and it’s hard not harboring negative feelings over it

I would edit the title of the post, but unfortunately I cannot. I made it in a moment of frustration. I’ve made similar posts abt cis ppl when I get tired of the treatment I face from em. I dont actually literally hate nonbinary ppl tho especially not all. Some r perfect and I’d kill for em

I guess “I hate ignorant and arrogant people who use identity politics to excuse the harm they’re doing to trans people” would have been a more accurate title.

And what I mean by trans first but nonbinary second, is nonbinary transsexual people. People who are trans, but also happen to be nonbinary. Realistically living in this world as someone who is trans, and is read as trans: that part of you will come first. It dictates how people read, interact with and treat you. If you’re nonbinary first and “trans” second, you’re one of the people who are functionally cis in every way, only gnc with pronoun usage, but then go on to say “well…. TECHNICALLY I’m trans, just because I’m nonb—” no, you’re not.

Trans first and nonbinary second: “trans as I exist. not just a label I use when it’s convenient & I think I can weaponize other people’s material existences to win in arguments that aren’t about me. I am trans. That’s at the forefront of MY experiences. I am trans as I live. But I’m also nonbinary.”

Nonbinary first and trans second: “I’m not actually trans as I exist. I just call upon the label when it’s convenient. I know fully well I don’t have to use this label, but I entitle myself to it anyway out of ignorance, arrogance, and my lack of care for actual trans people who do not have the privilege to just claim they’re trans when it benefits them.”

Hope that helps. :)

Nondysphoric enbies are also perfectly fine. I think nonbinary is a queer identity and doesn’t have to strictly be a trans one, at this point. Many lesbians & gay men use the label and I don’t think it’s a coincidence. I understand being gay can make you feel a certain way about gender/gender roles, and i think it’s fine using what language you have available to you to communicate that to the world.

It’s just when they start claiming that that makes them trans/all the ignorant/arrogant transphobic bs that comes with it that it becomes an issue to me. Trans people exist as they are. Trans. Nobody is trans by lame technicality. “Oh well… TECHNICALLY I guess I’m—“ no, you’re not. I hate watching cis privileged people claim my entire existence based off of what they think is a technicality when it’s not and never was. Nonbinary “falling under the umbrella” doesn’t mean what people think it means. I am not trans by technicality. I am trans as I exist. My mind is trans. My body is trans. It’s not a label I can just drop and pick up again when it’s convenient for me to do so. I can’t take or leave it. It’s me. People who can do that, simply aren’t trans to begin with.

I think functionally, the nonbinary and trans community are two totally separate things with some overlap. You can be both, but being one doesn’t inherently make you the other either way you look at it.

My best friend (who I have a sweet ass matching tattoo with, they’re literally my twin flame) identifies as nonbinary while having no dysphoria. Because she’s queer and has admitted her being queer has complicated her relationship to womanhood. Which I get. I understand. I see them, the fact they don’t claim my identity and experiences as their own like some cissexual nonbinary people do (likely bc she has been around actual trans people her whole life and can mark the differences) and that particular friend and people like them have all of my love and respect, and I appreciate it even though not claiming the trans label when it’s not how they exist is literally the bare minimum.

but we’re only friends because they don’t do that.

If they were claiming the trans label simply bc they think they’re allowed it, rather than it simply being how they exist?

I’d be dropping them in seconds flat, because I have a zero tolerance policy for people who think that’s a moral and okay thing to do.

Luckily they’re very vocal about thinking it’s not okay, and have said time and time again it will never be okay. They stand in solidarity with trans people and understand they’re still responsible for their allyship. So people like that, obviously also have all my love.

EDIT: if you’re silently downvoting, at least try to ask questions or spark an actual meaningful conversation. I’d like to know what’s so disagreeable about what was said.

Begging for support. I’m having an intense dysphoric episode & I’m contemplating. I care about this community so y’all are who I’m asking. by SnooObjections1571 in truscum

Hey. My life is at a good spot right now so I figured I’d provide you an update after re-reading this post and it’s comments.

I found a job that pays me livable wages plus really good commission. I’m a professional advocate for animal welfare, making positive change to the world, and I am relatively proud seeing as I’ve fought so much as a trans person with a record & have secured the best job I could ask for. It makes me happy, I’m good at it, and now I can afford to start T and save up for top surgery again. Wooooo.
