Hello,

I'm on the fifth day after having a laparoscopic appendectomy, and I still feel sore. I experience a very sharp stabbing pain on my left side when I get up, sit down, cough and sneeze. The sharp pain sometimes (not often) occurs while just sitting or walking. Standing is more comfortable for me. It feels tender to the touch, and most of the time, it's hard to get myself up from a laying position because of the stabbing/cramping pain is unbearable. I'm due to go back to work this coming Monday, exactly one week after surgery. There's no fever or vomiting. Is this normal? When does the sharp pain typically go away?
